You strike an absolutely super-duper ultra fresh sweet cool pose in front of the mech. -- Isra is confused. Why is Ace posing in front of the guys he's supposed to be fighting? Is it some sort of new fighting style? -- ... and then you shoot jellyjam at it. The guy piloting the mech was so stunned by your coolness(?) that you score a direct hit! Too bad jellyjam isn't very damaging, but now the guy has a thick cover of jelly on his mech. He must be getting tired of the visual screens. You ignite an Eagle Punch and run at the mech while the guy can't see "COMPLETELY DISREGARDING THE AUTOPILOT MODE!!" *WHAP* -10 HP. Owch. You get up and shake yourself back to focus. If you're not mistaken... the mech's autopilot attack slammed you back into the wall... BUT--! It's arms has broken off... and isn't regenerating as fast. Must be because of the jelly! "And your jellyscreen is still keeping the guy from seeing, so now would be a great time to attack from the side while the mech is vulnerable." Also you are TOTALLY gonna do some air-donuts with this thing once you break into it.

Dual-weild the mech's arms and beat the Three-oh to death with them.

I just realized that I wrote "arms". I meant it to be a single arm, but this makes sense and works too. You clumsily dash over to the arms that fell off of the mech. They aren't dissolving like they should, probably another affect of the jellyjam-jam. You pick them up and jump to the wall. You scream "JELLYJAM DONUT ATTACK GOOOOOO!!!!" and just like that you jump from the wall doing a midair cartwheel holding both mech arms. You shoot even MORE jelly when you do this, causing a wheel of the stuff to form around you. Before you touch down, you begin to spin even faster. Faster. FASTER!! You stomp yourself in place on the ground and throw your jelly-wheel at the mech, both of its arms tucked firmly inside its jellyjammyness. You hit the mech square on while its vulnerable (even though it still has power) and attack its life hit points directly for 40 damage! You place three cards facedown and end your turn The mech flips backwards in an involuntary somersault, small cracks now visible on it. "Stoppit, stoppit, stoppit!!" The guy inside rants, probably at you. "When will you learn to... just... STOP! Activating Shields!" Oooooh it has shields. Now you really want that mech. "Shields on this thing will just be another thing for you to plow through to make it vulnerable. Easy peasy." -- Isra: "(Too much jelly. I will probably have to wash my clothes after this...)"
Shenanigans Three-oh Restarter Mech: 3/3 Power, 145/200 HP, autopilot attacks, shields
Ace: 60/75, 2.5x Atk/Def, Jellyjam powers, really wants to pilot that mech (Majerble's Mask not usable)
I like this update.

Using you powers of silent protagonist, you briefly stop the fight and offer the guy one Pwaant for his mech. "... okay, I'll consider your offer. Show me the money first." He says, briefly stopping for you to hold up on your offer. You smile smugly and reach for your bag, though then you realize it's not there. Silence ensues. The guy looks at you accusingly, well, technically it's his fault. Though when the mech throws a jab at you, it's clear negotiating time is over. You barely dodge the attack and counter it by pulling the mech towards you, then pushing off of its shields to send it to the ground. You get a clear shot at the lower half of it while the shields are stunned in motion by your attack, and hit it to make it lose 2 units of power and slide it across the floor into the wall. It gets back up, and begins floating now. The guy inside screams some more, and it shoots some more attacks at you just as soon. You dodge and counter them to the best of your ability, taking only 7 damage. Unfortunately, it's too far away and its parts are too expendable and disintegrate too quickly for you to do any damage back. Whatdo now? You're still dodging and countering. Your other party members should be arriving soon too, hopefully.

Sorry about the late update. I kinda... forgot. You continue dodging and countering. The guy controlling the mech must not be the smartest tool in the shed, because you're starting to get into a rhythm of dodging his moves now and he's not changing it up one bit. As you do your dodgy dance, you brainstorm a new technique. Looking at the mech... you probably can't punch through those shields, not with your having to dodge and all... shields... AH-HA! *whap* A lightbulb goes off in your head just as your foot slips and the mech slaps you silly. You recoil back a ways and effectively begin to guard by covering yourself, only having taken 5 damage, now waiting for a chance to use a grab. "A grab?"Yes, a grab. Grabs go through shields, everyone knows that. wait was that Ace narrating? "Finally giving up??" the man in the mech yells. It's a shame that sitting in the mech doesn't seem to muffle his voice. "HAVE THIS!!!" He throws a straight chop at you with one mech arm, now's your chance! You roll to the side and dash up to him in the blink of an eye and swing your arm at the mech for your move... *grab sound* It worked! Now for a truly inescapable combo... >Down Throw >Up Tilt >Up Tilt >Up Tilt >Up Tilt >Up Tilt >Up Tilt >Up Tilt >Up Air >Up Air >Up B You land back on the ground. The mech pilot staggers as his mech floats back down, out of power, and he tries to make it dodge... >Bait Airdodge >FSmash *WH-POWWIE!*For a second you think you see a 65 flash on the bottom of the screen... wait, what screen? From your fist to the mech's exposed dome, a punch sends the mech crashing into the wall. Once again, the outside illusion in the room ripples and the mech takes some time to restart. No time to beat it up again though, instead to do a flip in-place and strike a stance to show you just COMBO'D. Then, an audience begins cheering "Mii! Mii!" "Woo! Waytago!" behind you... or are you just crazy? You swivel backwards to be sure, and lucky for you you aren't crazy *cough*! Marshall, Apollo, and Amanda are all standing right there, cheering for you. ... and that's about it. They have their weapons too... where'd they get them? -- Well, it was a matter of time until someone noticed Isra. That Marshall person had a sharp eye, and Isra guessed she was so caught up watching the fight that she wasn't staying vigilant enough. They'd approached her as Ace was hitting the mech, many, many times and she gave them Ace's bag, no words needed. Now they were cheering for him. But while nobody was watching, the mech was doing something... -- All of a sudden they look scared and all point to something behind you. Still, they quickly hop into battle alongside you, so now this battle shouldn't take much longerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrohwouldjalookitthat. "Heheheaha-haha-h-ha-HA!" The annoying mech dude laughs in a stupid sounding skip-chortle. In front of him is one of the rock-things you saw before, but now it's moving. It's a big lizard-looking thing that has orange-red veiny skin where there aren't rocks and big, purple eyes... narrowing.... at... you... (remember the behemoth from a few updates ago? Well now it's reactivated by the restarter mech and fighting you.)Oh. Well oh dear. "HAHA-HA-HA-HA-haha!! Face the wrath of our finest creation here, the Santrito Behemoth mark TWO!" All right! Let's update! The Behemoth seems to size you up as you feel stunned by its gaze. It raises its arm high and brings it down towards you. Acting quickly and selflessly, you high five Marshall's shoulder with excessive force so that he falls out of reach. You tumble to the side and take 2 damage. Where the monster hit is now a fizzling mess of what was a grassy illusion. You're allies seem stunned by its power, but Marshall readies his Bazookifyer as it pulls its fist back. He locks eyes with you for a second just before he fires a Tater Flash in between you and the mech, you spring towards it and nab it out of the air. You do several flips before landing on the ground and use the force you gained to launch your acquired projectile in between the mech and the behemoth. It flies through the air at speed and explodes in a burst of flames and fireworks when it hits the ground. The force of the blast makes the behemoth let out a low, gravely groan as it falls to the ground. The mech guy seems equally stunned, but enough of that, you and Marshall need a rest after all of that combo move-ing, and your JellyJam powers are all dried up... Amanda and Apollo, on the other hand, still seem lively. Also... is it just you, or does Apollo seem especially... electric? "Definitely not just you. I'd say something here's giving him a rush of passion." I blame Isra Well that answers that, though it raises more questions. What will they do? You'd best recover after launching that combo move, but that doesn't mean you have to be a bystander...

I've been thinking about writing short bios on the BitF first page for the characters here, even the ones that have only appeared once. Should I do it? You're two active allies talk for a moment, but out of your hearing. It seems Marshall heard what they said and is now backing up just a bit, though you don't notice... Amanda moves behind Apollo and seems ready to do a normal attack. However, Apollo moves into a peculiar magic-casting stance. You quickly recognize it from when you first met him. But with that, you never really knew what it did... or that it could be used in combat. You get the feeling that you're about to find out, exciting! He mumbles a quick chant then spreads his arms out and stands up straight, a golden aura beginning to materialize around him. "... y'know, maybe you should duck behind something right now." Before you can ask Min "why" or look for something to hide behind, Apollo's small smile has turned into an excited grin as he locks eyes as best he can with the enemy. Amanda's normally stern expression has turned into more of a "why did I go along with his plan?". You take no notice and keep watching Apollo, deeply absorbed by what his attack may be. "Heh-khah!" His exclamation is something like that. It's not that climactic though, all that happens is the aura from him just expands away from him and floats by the enemy and you, not really doing much. That... couldn't have been all of it? You feel ripped off. Amanda's expression is growing even more grim. "Too late." As soon as you feel Min you also feel a very unpleasant numbingly strong electric shock befall you're body. You pop up a few inches and then crash on the ground, having taken 20 damage. Still rather anticlimactic. Also: ow. However, that's not all Apollo was doing, thank goodness. You open your eyes seconds later and see him using his Scaerf to conduct a absolutely massive electricity rope! When did that happen? Regardless, he makes more exclamations that would sound indistinguishable on paper, and uses the his attack to strike the Behemoth while it's down with a ruthless-looking downward slap! It makes a high-pitched shriek and soon becomes motionless, obviously not dead, but in a similar condition to a few updates ago. The guy in the mech seems fully conscious of this, but when Apollo's elec rope attacks the mech it does... nothing. It swishes right over it with no more than a small crackle. Maybe a bit of damage, but otherwise nothing. A brief awkward silence is then broken by Amanda's Air Slash moments later as she goes in to fight the mech up-close to make up for it, but Apollo seems somewhat discouraged... What will your party do now?

Today is Marshall's birthday*! *unenthusiastic crowd "yay"* But since it's probably not his birthday in the CYOA, nothing will happen, right? *according to character bios Amanda gets hit by a swift and powerful hooked chop for 12 damage while fighting up close, and stumbles to the ground with a yelp. This seems to get Apollo back into focus, if just for a moment, and he casts Thunda! at the mech's cockpit before the mech can do any more harm. While he still doesn't do any damage, the mech is pushed back by it shields and the insane force of the attack. Amanda uses the chance and moves behind the mech and hits it with Dragonfly Wave, spinning and slashing in midair. This appears to be causing it to lose power, but Amanda's attack isn't finished yet. Once the mech's power depletes completely, she blasts herself up and around it and delivers a powerful kick to its front, causing it to fall backwards. For a mech that's supposed to float in the air, this thing seems to fall on the ground a lot. She lands on the ground, and quickly jumps on top of the mech's body and stabs the Cutter straight down into it to finish her combo, dealing 57 damage! Marshall coughs. You feel like you've just been upstaged. ... but due to what I have planned next the mech is still functional. As soon as her onslaught is finished, Amanda is forced to stop and rest, fatigued. True to its name, the mech restarts itself almost as quickly as it had to stop and swats Amanda to the side for 9 damage. She flops on the ground, defenseless and worn out. The mech begins to prepare a finishing move, but Apollo blasts it with electricity as a last resort to try and save his sister. The attack looks more natural than other Thunda! attacks you've seen him do before. You also feel a Blizzard Blast from Marshall fly over your head just as soon, and before you can realize that you didn't make any offensive moves at all this update the two attacks collide just behind the mech. The attack from Apollo is intercepted by Marshall's and is enveloped by ice in the blink of an eye, slamming into unshielded back of the mech with acute and powerful pressure before seemingly fizzling out before a visibly powerful electric surge soon shocks the mech from the inside. The guy inside cries in panic, and his mech falls to the ground, powerless again... but everyone's too afraid of it restarting to try and attack it. An awkward moment passes. ... But the mech doesn't restart. Huh? Just to be sure, you take out Min to check. "... scan complete. So what just happened is that the accidental combo move just now made an acute stinger of ice and electricity that worked it's way inside the mech via magic, and subsequently zapped and de-powered it while also freezing up its circuits. It's all pretty intense. That's why this thing won't be restarting anytime soon." Well that's convenient. It's probably high-time to finish the fight, then? How to do it though... hmmm...
Shenanigans Three-oh Restarter Mech: 0/3 Power, 22/200 HP, frozen from the inside out
Santrito Behemoth mark 2: ???/??? HP
Ace: 26/75, 2.5x Atk/Def, (Majerble's Mask not usable) Marshall: 100/100, max pulseness, Tater Flash charged Apollo: 75/75 Amanda: 29/50 -- Isra's about ready to make her escape. She'd put the odd crystal device-thing from before in Ace's bag, it's obviously more useful to them, and she thinks that she'd best be leaving now... she'd rather not get too attached to the group. Jus as soon as they finish off the mech, she can get out... but something's tugging at the back of her mind and she's not sure what.
Oh yeah, there was also a new combo in this update. It has yet to be named, by characters, but I'll put in on the BitF front page under "Party" and "Combos" with its name and effect for those who just can't wait to see it. I'll do that right after I post this.

You prepare to do a finishing move on the frozen mech, but all of a sudden Min zips out, seemingly very stressed, "Ruby! We have sudden unidentifiable presences approaching at an alarming rate from--this can't be right... above! Watch out!" You look up almost instinctively, at first seeing nothing. You're about to question Min when the ceiling breaks down in a crashing CRANSCH of wires and dust... directly on top of the mech. You're blown back by the impact and the floor shakes, until it's outside illusion breaks down completely. When the dust in front of you clears, you see a big... metal... bubble? Voices can be heard from the inside, and in an ear-jarring screech the bubble is torn open on the side towards you. What emerges seems to be... a leaf dinosaur and a giant floating jelly thing. Your party crowds around, speechless. I told you! Saved us at the least second! the leaf dino says. Hold on--it can talk? You ask Min to scan them. "These things aren't in my database... at ALL. I'm... not sure how to feel about something new to me... the leaf one seems dangerous, but the floating one has some sort of barrier preventing scans." While you were conversing with your robot partner, the jelly thing had been talking. You figure it's best to listen for now... if these things really are hostile it'd be no good to run. "But that was reckless! I keep telling you about being reckless!" What can I say? It's what makes me ME! ...uh... The potentially hostile one seems to notice your group. You take a fighting stance and glare suspiciously at it. It glares right back in a similar fashion. Hey Cloacky, do you know where we are? the leafy says to the jelly, of whom is also staring puzzledly at your group. "... unfortunately, yes. Listen quickly..." the jelly floats down, it's diamond-shaped mouth whispering something to the leafy. The leafy's evil-looking red eyes widening shortly after followed by an "Ohhhh...". You didn't hear what they said, but Apollo did. He asks once the strange creatures turn back to you, "Who's... Ex-two?" Nice going, smart one. "... I can fix this." Now Marshall and Amanda are eyeing them suspiciously. Marshall takes his turn to ask "Extwo? Is that who you guys work for?" he tries to gesture to the guy in the mech, but quickly remembers why he can't and just points to the bubble. "If so, I'd like a word..." Er... you want to take this one, Cloacky. you hear the leafy mumble to the jelly. "I'll try my best... Um... hello! Hi! Er, X2 is actually not the person you're looking for. We don't work for him... we're more... ah... well he doesn't have anything to do with who you were fighting, I can say the least." Actually-- "SHHHH! Um, well, we're not here to fight you. Unfortunately) Our names are Cloacky and Notshalite. I'm Cloacky, and my friend here is Notshalite. They both smile, Cloacky noticeably more awkwardly than... "Notshalite". And who's X2? You feel a chill run up your spine... but believe that the duo is not here to fight. Amanda, however, is still skeptical. "Right. And what exactly ARE you? How can we be sure that you guys aren't just... an even newer... Behemoth thing!" she points to the KO'd Behemoth behind you. Ooooh, so that's what the look like. "Cloacky" talks directly after Notshalite, more serious and obviously more focused than... him? "We... are... well, we're creatures from another world. Universe, even. Just try to forget you saw us here, it was an accident on my part. X2 is nothing you should worry about, and if you try to learn too much about it it might put you in danger. Just... have a good journey." Oh, and don't touch the bubble. It's lead. Poisonous stuff. "... Yep. Bye!" And with that, Cloacky closes its eyes and a portal-lloking rift appears. It and Notshalite both jump into it, and it quickly closes before you can even comprehend what just happened. Then a blue bipedal otter-looking thing with ice cream for a head jumps down from the broken ceiling and kills you with a blade of ice. GAME OVER
HAHAHAHAAAAA APRIL FOOLS! WHOO THAT WAS FUN. CAN WE DO THAT AGAIN NEXT YEAR? "Stop yelling and help me find X3. It's weird... my portals were supposed to follow him. Did he somehow end up in X2's CYOA?" On April Fool's? Not a chance. April Fool's...? Ah! Of course! We're going back! Notshalite you genius!" Me what? -~- Yes I planned to wait to update until April Fool's no I didn't forget or was lazy what are you saying HAHAHAHAHAHAHA--*chokes on spit* >Restart from last update You step forward and perform an elaborate step dance. As you step, of course,so you effectively dance while making your way over to the immobile mech. Your allies join in. And by join in, they just approach the mech with you. If they're giving you funny looks, you don't notice. You strike a pose and bring out Min out to scan for a power core. It's probably the only way you can defeat the thing, and every mech in the history of ever has a power core to be ripped out. "... scan complete. Right... here." Min highlights a spot in the center of the mech. The guy inside has begun screaming again, but it's all muffled since the mech's mic is frozen. Thank goodness, you were getting very tired of his voice... but then again you're going to have to break open the mech's top in order to get in it and fly it around. That's something to look forward to... You ignite a white-hot flame using way more energy than you could muster effectively in a battle and cut open the mech, reach in, and nab a power core! You rip it our easily, and instantly all the lights on the mech go out. Success! ... wait... you were going to fly it. Well, Apollo can probably power it if you ask nicely. Now to just break the glass... -- Isra moves quietly out behind the fake rock. She hears footsteps fast approaching the door opening as she gets close to it... from the other side? She moves to the side of it, and a guy bursts in... it's the guy from before. The guy who first appeared at the entrance to the Distorted Tent, the guy you threw in the prison you were first contained in and sealed in with ice. One of the Shenanigans Three-oh! He has... probably a weapon on him, and it might be deadly. He doesn't notice Isra and aims at Ace's group, and without thinking Isra grabs the hand holding the weapon. The guy exclaims surprisedly, and he drops the weapon. However, now he has her by the wrist. He's surprisingly strong, and Isra can't break free. He picks his weapon back up, now aiming at her. "Help!" -- You hear a surprised exclamation followed by a quick clatter and then... Isra? When did she get here? You swivel behind you, and so does the rest of your group, dead silent. You see one of the Three-oh holding a strange almost-frisbee-looking thing pointed at Isra. That can't be good. "Isra!" Apollo yells. He begins to charge a spell, and Amanda and Marshall follow suit and prepare to attack. "Stop!" The guy says, almost evilly. "One wrong move and you can say goodbye to your thief friend...!" Apollo then accidentally zaps himself in shock. Amanda and Marshall both lower their weapons, and they all seem troubled at this outcome. But you get the feeling that this won't go quite as smoothly as the guy believes it will. ... what will happen?

This guy seems pretty serious about using his weapon on Isra, which is troubling. You soften your expression and attempt to reason with him, suppressing the growing urge to try and sock him from 30 feet away... "Heh, yeah, you're scared! Scared for your little friend here! You're not tough, you're just a big, dumb, softie who happened to find your machine there." His words have an angry edge to them. He must be mad about something, but he seems open enough to talk. Your Min sense is telling you that Apollo's ready to fire off a stun spell as soon as you give him the go-to, so you prod him a bit more on what he knows. "Oh, your robot friend? Well, don't believe me, that bundle of wires is supposed to be the most accurate, vicious, powerful, downright AMAZING thing Santrito's ever created! Heck, even I don't know where we got the tech... but I do know it's rightfully ours! Do you really want to save your friend here? Then give us the superencyclopedia--that's what it's called, and we'll let you go." "Don't listen to him! If you hand me over, he'll use his weapon anyway! But that thing is just another KO gun, but a much more powerful version than before. You won't be able to be woken up easily, that's for sure. Now would be a good time for that stun spell." Heeding Min's warning, you lock eyes with Apollo and nod. "... hey! What are you doing?!" Before the guy can even think to say something else, Apollo fires an especially fast stunning lightning wave. It hits the guy dead-on, and he crumples for a second. Marshall immediately stands tall and follows up with a large Blizzard Blast that freezes your enemy to the ground, with only his right hand free. You walk towards it, and Isra wriggles her wrist out of his hand and gasps in relief. You hear a muffled screech from the mech behind you. Success! -- An awkward silence passes for a moment, with everyone unsure of what to say. Isra satnds up to break it. "Th-thank you. I am sorry for everything that I have put you through, and I did not mean to cause that sort of trouble for you. I should..." The silence resumes. Isra doesn't feel quite right, she feels almost connected to the group, yet pulled away by her profession as a thief. "I should go..." She sits back down. "(Why did I just say that I would have to go when I feel like I should stay? WHY do I feel like I should stay?)" -- Isra seems deep in thought. What will you do? Will you say anything to her? Or if not you, who?

You try to silently ask Min what you should say to Isra, you're not very good at talking to girls she's clearly troubled about something but not letting on. If anything, you want to cheer her up for how she helped you after getting you into this mess in the first place. However, your resident Deus Ex Machina is keeping her mouth shut. "Normally I'd be right on it, but I think this is something that you don't need me for."You try to make a comeback but just end up suddenly putting on an irritated face in the middle of the moment. You get stares from your party, even Isra looks up to ponder your sudden grimace. Well since you have their attention you might as well do a song and dance to cheer them up... "Wait what--"You grab Min and twirl her around in a circle, singing an upbeat song about how everything Isra did was okay. We all need to do what we need to do to get by~ Even if it means manipu-la-ting our friends! If your life is a marathon of trickery and lies, I'll still sit by you and call you my ally!
Your intentions, at first, were somewhat sub-par... But in the end, what you did positively raised the bar! You may or may not care whether I live or die, However, I'll still call you my ally!
Without you, all us would be very much dead, That might include you, but I'm getting ahead. I guess what I'm trying to say--keyword tryyyyy~... Is that I'd be happy to call you my ally! The guy in the mech claps at your song. Even the frozen guy who may or may not have tried to not-kill Isra is smiling. You let go of Min and reach your hand out to Isra... Immediately then you collapse from dizziness and exhaustion. Before you can drift off to sleep however, Marshall hits you with a tiny Blizzard Blast to the back of your neck. "No clockin' out yet, Ace." Easy for him to say, he didn't even take any damage last fight AND he got a new combo. But he is right. As you struggle to keep yourself conscious, you hear Amanda talking to Isra. "... so yeah, Ace is right. Even though you've spent all your time as a sort of... thief, we feel like you could be a really good friend to have." "I... I will think about it. Thank you for the offer." "Hey, no problem. We aren't here to rush you. If you don't want to change how you live, we aren't here to change it for you." "Yes." Isra smiles. Well, now that that's cleared up (you think) it's back to work. What were you doing? "You were going to try and pilot the mech."Oh, right. -time skip-Apollo finally agrees to power the mech for you after Isra says she "Thinks it would be interesting". Yes! And is it just you or are Amanda and Marshall looking worried again? You hop into the cockpit of the mech. Apollo tosses in a sort of electricity orb into the power core spot. The mech begins to float, as it lifts off you sneer at the nearby ice sculpture of the guy who was in it before. Before you begin to do anything cool with it, however, a message appears in holo-text in front of you. UNIDENTIFIED POWER CORE INSERTED RETURNING TO STATIONWhat?! No! Nonono... the mech begins to float back towards the wall where it came from. When it touches, the metal sides of the mech merge with the wall in a fashion similar to when you saw Min absorb Amanda's Lightbox. Could this be where Min is from? Your question remains unanswered, as the wall gets closer to the hole you made in the mech it slows down until it stops. You wait. You definitely can't get out of it now... ... Then the mech explodes. Honestly, it happens so quickly that you don't even register it until after it happens. At least getting out of it won't be a problem. Looking at the sizable hole in the wall you don't fell particularly injured, which is lucky. Around you, violet lights flash around you as your friends rush in to check on you. Even Isra follows. Their "are you okay"s cease soon as they look around at this sort of back room you've found. You stand up, and a tingle in the back of your head tells you to look up behind you. There, in big violet neon letters, SANTRITOHuh. "Hey y'all! Come look at this!" Marshall calls over your group to an electronic screen propped up on a desk. It looks like it's been used recently. "I reckon this machine here can be hacked into t' figger out just what was happenin' here." You consider taking out Min, but the computer (which is what we'll be calling it) seems already open to questions. You're not sure why, but you feel like you should just... talk to it. Like a person. What will you ask it? Maybe you should start with "what is this place?" and go off of that. Soooo... What is this place?*whirr* "Greetings, guest. Your Santrito lab model TentSPC-C2 is located near Jorrahn Mountain's peak and is attempting to bring new touches to the Stone Servant line to make them more battle-ready, and is also experimenting with Behemoth generation. Lately it has been called to capture and return to proper function the rouge Superencyclopdeia now known to be in the area, as well as get rid of the boy accompanying it."OH GOSH IT TALKS. Well that probably just raised more questions... what can be asked next? New Items: None Persony Bits: None Recent: Song and dance, ally Isra(?), asplodey Mech, back room, computer questions

Note now that any and all character quotes until further notice will be said in a singsongy manner. Imagine it. SPC? Shark Punching Center? "Question not understood." Typical. Why r u a dumb? "This model is not a 'dumb', it is a Santrito Thinkchine mark 13." ... what? Will that info ever be useful? Also "Thinkchine"? Why not "Talk-screen?" it rolls of the tongue WAY better. Also who named the company "Santrito?" *cough* How long has the Superencyclopedia been rogue? *click, whirr* "Contact lost with Superencyclopedia approximately one month ago. Since then it has been considered rogue. However, when it was lost at first it was not finished, yet it is unknown who deployed it while it was still in beta." Hmmm. Well, your hunch is that Min is the Superencyclopedia this computer is talking about. You'll ask her later, but it's all but confirmed at this point. Why would it have been deployed, though? What will you do when you capture it? "Before contact was lost with the Superencyclopedia, it was supposed to be able to manipulate the knowledge of organic, and certain mechanical organisms. This function is incomplete, and it the main reason the Superencyclopedia was considered unfinished. That is the primary reason for the request of the Superencyclopdeia's capture. Not only that, but it is supposed to be the greatest technological achievement of New Santrito and was deployed without supervision. It had also been fluctuating in performance not too long before it lost contact, such glitches are the first priority to any field employees of Santrito if they manage to capture it." New Santrito...? And what kind of glitches? Where is the company's main base of operations? *whirr* "Santrito's main base of operations is located here." The computer displays a map on it's screen. At one point in a red dot with a "your location" above it in text from there, a similarly colored line stretches to a point far south across Jorrahn Mountain, notably over a desert and a sea and a familar-looking forest, and finally it stops and another dot appears at the end of the line. Text above it appears that reads "New Santrito". "Hey! Hold a sec!" Marshall leans in and looks closely at the map. "That's... that there's where Spiyer Town is! It's gotta be! That's MY home! Why--oh. OH. Oh taters and spice...!" He clutches his head and breaths for a second. Silence happens again, looks are exchanged throughout your group. "So that's where he's from?" whispers Apollo to Amanda. "Seems like it." Soon after, Marshall walks back over, surprisingly calm. "Well, on the plus side I know that I have to get back. I have to get back, yeah. Heck, maybe this Santrito isn't quite so bad as I thought it'd be?" You decide to not remind Marshall how you got in this mess in the first place. It'd be better for his sanity. But you're bothered to think what could've happened to his home. More questions?
Answer summary: - Nope - "Thinkchine" - ~1 month of rogue Superencyclopedia, deployed while in beta - Fix bugs and become great achievement of New Santrito, was deployed without a known objective and without supervision - Spiyer Town

So that's why Min was able to give Ace a class way back when. I'd ask what kind of glitches the rogue Superencyclopedia was experiencing.

What kind of glitches? *whirr* "The glitches the Superencyclopedia was experiencing were hard to define due to the largely untested technology used to build it. However, it is certain that it was not displaying a video nor audio feed to those at New Santrito's base. Because of this, it is unknown why connection was lost." But the glitches? "Unidentified due to untested technology." For some reason you expected more. Aaaaaaaaaaaa?? The computer doesn't respond, and judging by the sound you just made you're fresh out of questions. It's doubtful that you could squeeze more info out of the computer, though. You get the vibe that Santrito doesn't even know what happened to the Superencyclopedia. It's an eerie feeling.
The computer powers itself down as if it's sensing your suspicion. With all that exposition, you can't help but wonder... you turn your head over to Min, who's been hovering over your shoulder this entire time. "So is that you?" Of all people, Isra is the first to ask Min. She has an expression similar to when you firs saw her, one you can't quite put a finger on. "The 'Superencyclopedia', I mean. Do I need to lay out the clues for you?" "I--I... I don't know." "Do not try to pull that on me." Her expression intensifies. "No, you don't get it, I DON'T KNOW! I have no memory of anything! It's all in bits and snips!" "How could you not at least realize it? When I saw you earlier, you said these people from Santrito were trying to 'control' you. Judging by the way the Thinkchine talked about you and the way the person from before talked, I will assume you were never meant to think for yourself. That might be your incomplete flaw and why you thought that. In fact, when these odd people hired me it was to find 'a small ovalish, a Superencyclopedia, device held by a boy traveling in a group'. I thought they were crazy, but when I saw you it was so obvious. Then I tried to steal you from the tent and got caught. Here I am now. What is more, they both refer to you as a Superencyclopedia. You." She turns to you now. "Has this 'Min' referred to herself as a Superencyclopedia before just now?" You nod reluctantly. "See? How does that not at LEAST confirm it?" "I'm... okay. All right. OKAY FINE!" You get a sudden headrush and become dizzy, almost falling down. Marshall catches you in the nick of time. "Sure. Fine. I'm the Superencyclopedia." An odd wave of previously unfelt emotions flows over you from Min. You don't get much time to think about it, a small chip floats out of the desk holding the computer and everyone watches, awestruck. It's a glossy Min-like color, except a violet shade. Before you can say anything, it flies around to Min's front and is absorbed into her. "... yes. Data confirmed. I am not just a Superencyclopedia, I am the Superencyclopedia. That's what the P-Chip says." "I knew it." Apollo quickly interjects. "Wait! Does anyone remember back at the Big Tree? What Medley said?"
"So there are more Mins out there, I think. It makes sense for a P-Chip to be here as well. But... does Min know anything else?" "Gah, that's what I was trying to get at before. Without my Chips, I know next to nothing about myself. It's strange, though... according to the chip, there aren't any others of me." "Wellllllllll... maybe you shouldn't rely on the chips so much?" "... Not possible. I may not be a mindless database like I was intended to be, but I still don't believe in things without proof." Isra seems confused again, "Wait, P-Chips?" Well now's probably a good time as ever to get her up to speed. did we ever even introduce Amanda and Apollo to P-Chips? -- -- So with everyone caught up and everything straightened out, you sit in the back room for a bit. A silent verdict dictates that you should probably be going. Even though apparently Santrito took over Marshall's home, you get an eerie gut feeling about Jorrahn Mountain's peak, how it's apparently MOVING and all according to updates since passed. You've been getting closer and closer... now's probably a good time to get back on track with that. You step out of the back room, and notice something odd. The people Marshall turned into ice sculptures before aren't there, but their ice casings are. Same goes for the rocks and the Behemoth... they're nowhere to be found. What could've happened to them? You decide to do a good old-fashioned Min scan. "... Scan complete. Something teleported here. I'm picking up faint energized molecules missed by the process, but I assume you're wondering who or what, and I can't tell you that because I can't figure it out. In fact, whatever took them took EVERYTHING else here, save for the back room. You won't find anything new. My hypothesis is that they didn't want you knowing their presence." Ahh, it's good to know Min's still acting normal after all that... thought. In fact, she's a little too fine with it. It's unnerving. I suppose that's a perk of being able to have all your doubts cleared with a simple chip. You leave the Distorted Tent, wondering what you'll do now. You suddenly realize--where are you?? When you were stun gunned, you were taken to the tent... oh boy. It's probably walking time now, isn't it?
I never thought I'd say this but... Part 2 coming tomorrow! (hopefully!)

Hey so we heard you like CYOA updates, so we attached a CYOA update to your CYOA update! sorry After a brief consulting of your resident Min, the path back to the Flitter and your tents is confirmed and certain, and not too far either. It's only a bit past noon anyway, so you'll be able to set up camp further on not too close to nightfall. Unfortunately, you have nothing to help you transport yourselves over the distance. Walking it is...! "Hey, is Isra going to come with us?" Apollo asks, quite literally minutes after you start the trek. You wonder what he means, but look over your shoulder and see your thief acquaintance but a few paces behind the group. She notices you and flashes a smile that you want to think is genuine, but... You stop walking momentarily and inquire as to what she's doing/planning/etc. "Oh, me?" "Yes, you." Amanda answers. "Before Ace offered his... ally-ship, you said you had to be going. Then to his proposal, you just said 'I'll think about it'." She turns her head and gives a glance. "So what ARE you going to be doing?" "I'd be fine if she stayed!" You hear Apollo throw in. "Astute observation, just as I would expect from someone like you!" "Wha--that doesn't answer the question." "Oh? Here I was thinking it was obvious. Of course I am coming with you." "Alrigh--wait, why?" "Huhm, details, details... do you remember why you met me in the first place?" "..." "Because I was hired by those low-lifes of Santrito to retrieve Min. Then they double-crossed me. I wasn't sure what made me think to stay with your team in the first place, but now I realize it is a deep HATRED-" her face changes to a polite frown for a split second, but for her that's the equivalent of a ghastly grimace, "-towards Santrito and how they manipulated me. A client has never done that to me before, and it took me a while to recognize the feeling, but now I want to give all I can towards your cause. Even though I have made a living as a thief since I was young, I think it is about time to turn over a new leaf, so to speak, and I believe myself getting tricked by that group was a sort of premonition to that." "That... is a fine reason to want to join. Welcome to the team, Isra!" "I am glad you agree." ISRA JOINED YOUR PARTY!! A brief fanfare ensues, but is quickly stopped by the same person it's being held for. "But... I do not really know how to fight." "That's fine!" Amanda says. "We'd be happy to teach you... but do you mean you don't know how to fight at ALL?" Isra puts her hand out flat and wobbles it as to say "kinda". "Hm. Well, you'll learn. Also, how do we know you aren't trying to fool us again?" "Just trust me for a while. I will demonstrate my loyalty the best I can as soon as I can... it... is an odd sensation, not having the need to steal. I am sure I will be a fine addition to your group." ISRA REALLY JOINED YOUR PARTY!!!
The rest of your walk back to your camp and the Flitter goes quickly and smoothly. Amanda and (especially) Apollo are ecstatic about Isra joining the group, but Marshall is still seeming shaken by the revelation about his home. He's doing his best to hide it though, but his "best" is really just not talking to anyone. It's a bit of a damper on it all, and you want to help him but... you don't think you can. Just more the drive to go after Santrito. Overnight, Isra disappears. By morning she's already at your camp's table with Amanda, ready to go with a small single-strap bag over her back and her full-body thief ensemble swapped out for a dark turtleneck and purple skirt, complete with a black fluffy hat. "Oh! Good morning, Ace. I told you I was not much of a fighter, but I still hope that this outfit will be okay in combat. Because I have made it my personal goal to not resort to thievery as a living, I figured I might as well look the part. I still know my way around with my sword, so I hope I won't be too much of a burden." "I'm sure you'll do fine..." assures Amanda. The two begin discussing battle tactics. When did they get so friendly? "Oh, Ace! I also wanted to give this to you. It was my payment for... before, but I think you should have it." +20000 Pwaants AhahahaWHOA.
Apollo and Marshall help prepare the morning meal and you all set out on the Flitter. The Mountain's peak isn't even visible anymore, so it definitely was, or IS moving. You're making good distance, but what you begin to see below you is what's worrisome. Before you were in an area filled with dark, volcanic rock and low-lying grass. Now you're seeing patches of recently cooled magma above the ground, Apollo's the one to recognize it. "This is very not good. In our history, there has never been a recorded eruption of Jorrahn mountain, let alone a volcano! I get what Easton was saying now about something being wrong here... we better move quickly. A sight further up ahead makes you hold that thought. A floating building with a rope down to the ground and a porch leading to a door lies straight ahead. Above the door reads "SHOP". You're not sure... but... you're inclined to stop there, and Apollo's the only one to object completely. Amanda says she wants a break and Marshall seems to be thinking just like you. You walk in. "Friends! Greetings to have you here! Come, sit down, have the tea and--" Isra walks in. "AUGH! What is that thiefer doing here in Pwaaluigi's shop?!?" "Do you mean me?" Isra stoically responds. "Confirm, you! Pwaaluigi has heard all about you! Pwaaluigi has the inclinedness to not tell you to not get out, but thiefer is with Pwaaluigi's friends, so maypossibly friends will explainize?" <explanation exposition> "Mehhh... if friends say so. Just drink Pwaaluigi's tea and buy some things. Pwaaluigi needs some of the time to think..." (current items on BitF first page) 22420 Pwaants
~Pwaaluigi's SHOP~ -Majerble's Mask: Enables you to copy an ally's attack if your HP is at 100%, but then decreases HP by 1. (2500 Pwt: any) -Nice Shades: Decreases damage taken from surroundings. (3000 Pwt; any) -Ampy Mitten: Every other turn has an ally gain bonuses from stat boost, also increases max stat boost by 1 level (to 3x). (5000 Pwt; Ruby) -Steamy Trinket: Makes Sauna Pulse a LOT more effective. (400 Pwt; Marshall) -Flux Gun: Enables 3 Potato shots per turn, with one random extra effect (like Iced Tea, but bad). (10000 Pwt; Marshall) -Truly Evil Sparkles: A LOT more power to Scarf Attack. (12000 Pwt; Apollo) -Scaerf: Makes Scarf Attack's random uses even more random... in a good way. (1000 Pwt; Apollo) -Conductor's Baton II: Makes Irk-Thunda deal more damage if HP is high, rather than low. (15000 Pwt; Apollo) -Laser Lights: Makes Triple Breeze raise attack by 2 levels (2x). (5000 Pwt; Amanda) -Slogan Blades: Dragonfly Wave hits more enemies with more force, making the attack better for single foes. (9000 Pwt; Amanda) -Convincing Excuse: Makes max HP lost for Spy's Stealth 5 instead of 10. (3000 Pwt; Isra) -Gobberry extract: Increases Poison damage to 5 per turn. (4000 Pwt; Isra) -Witch's Hat: Makes Unspeakable Magic more powerful (2x), but also dangerous to allies. (4500 Pwt; Isra) -Iced Tea: Random effect. (50 Pwt, item)

The log once again gets the shaft as I have to bring another character into the mix! Lowdown on hoedown time! Isra Atk 9 Def 3 MgAtk 21 MgDef 2 HP 35 Thief's Slash: A slash with a cripplingly sharp sword that weakens foe's attack power. Spy's Stealth: Use Isra's natural stealthiness (and a bit of magic) to disappear in the blink of an eye at the cost of up to 10 HP depending on the situation. Makes Thief's Slash deal bonus damage if that's her next move. Isra will uncloak naturally at the end of a turn, or if hit by light based attacks. Night's Cruelty: (passive) If Thief's Slash is boosted by Spy's Stealth, it will drain HP from the target and poison them afterwards (2 HP per turn). Unspeakable Magic: Not even Isra can recall where she learned this technique. Drop her HP down to 1 and restrict healing items for a turn in order for her to unleash her dark magic as an attack on all enemies. This will deal heavy damage, but enemies won't flinch in the slightest and it can't KO. Use with caution.
