Hahaha, I do the same thing when I'm supposed to be reading Romeo and Juliet! Except with Episode G, that other Saint Seiya thing I forgot to mention. It's basically like Gaiden for the modern Saints of Athena.

Not really, although it looks like one of them, Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, has really different animation than all the others. I guess they're not as popular as the anime and mangas.

Oh. The animation difference might put people off which could explain why it's less popular? Or we could just blame trebuchets.

Yeah, that could be it. The animation looks pretty cool, except for it makes Pisces Aphrodite look EVEN MORE FEMININE, which is not something I thought possible.

One of my friends doesn't watch something if she doesnt like the art style. So maybe her philosophy is why the movies aren't as popular?

Maybe, maybe not. The original anime is from the 80's, when the animation wasn't so advanced, so that might be it as well.
The Lost Canvas came later, though.
Another thing that makes Saint Seiya less popular is the fact it's so inaccessible in the US. It's hard to find even english subs for the animations, although the manga isn't too hard if you know where to look.

And some people are auditory learners and need to hear something to be able to process it. That could be part of it.

Yeah. It's a vicious cycle. Few people want to watch the anime because it's not all in their language, but Toei Animation won't make more because nobody watches it.
