Mini update:
Negerine speaks up before anybody does anything that could, well, kill somebody off. So before Lincoln prepares himself to bravely stare out into the abyss as Naden does everything he can to assist him some critical thinking may come in handy.
The current Ambience is Blue thanks to the weather, meaning that Blue Lances are currently in play. Lincoln's wall building skills are ready and available for utilization as well if it'd serve any useful function. Aside from that the plan would have to use whatever is currently on hand or equipped.
It's time to strategize.

Damn. So much for potential earthbending.
Let's improvise a bit and see if icy spears are the only thing I can summon, though. One doesn't necessarily have to limit themselves to natural cadences.

Maybe Lincoln could reinforce the platform with wall-ish structures? Just to make sure JUSTICE PREVAILS he doesn't die.

Party Conditions 4:00PM Day 2 RainPutting together the efforts of the composer and architect, the delvers watch in anticipation to see how Lincoln fares... Keeping his hands steady as he works, Lincoln lies down bulwark after bulwark against the cage of ice drills, as Negerine heroically declared they were called when he directed the spears spiralling into the sides of the outcrop. It's not exactly a massive change from slinging frozen lances, but as Lincoln assured it makes as much of a difference as using a screw over a nail. It wasn't quite clear what he meant by that but it sounded reassuring coming from the guy who'd be trusting you not to let him fall. The length of the platform took up four bulwark fences to reach the edge. The Delvers watched with eyes wide as Lincoln crept closer to the ledge, leaning lower, then lower as he looked down below. The Architect looks sullen by the sight he has seen, and even over the roar of the storm it was still unmistakable that the pained voice you had heard had vanished altogether. What tragedy this forest condones, so starved for blood that it would only let its prey escape after it is resigned to death by crueler means. Lincoln eventually rises from sitting dumbstruck and returns to the grim faced group. If there was any good news to be gathered, The cliff may end up being a shortcut straight down to the forest's entrance. Once the rain stops it'll be an ideal shortcut down to the sentry. Urging that putzing around listening to a guards terrible singing won't get those gobberries any faster, The architect leads a now slightly confused Party onwards. The road back onto the Eastern path reaches a new branch. From the directions received the day before, the riverside has been reached at last! The party quickly spreads out to see if there are any traces of the fruit hanging about, but beyond an unusually Buzzing Tree there isn't anything of note to see. Because of the ground having a particularly ashy scent to it by the bank, perhaps a source of a volcanic well, it would make sense that this area was particularly verdant. If food grew so readily it'd make sense if this place was frquently foraged by monster and Delver alike. Jeb was certainly up here for one reason or another himself after all. If the Gobberries are to be found searching a little further along the ground will be necessary. To the North there is a trail of creek rocks forming a bridge further down the river. Heading Southward will bring the delvers into a shadier forest cove it seems. It doesn't look like it sees much visitors though...

Party Conditions 4:00PM Day 2 RainThe Delvers decide that heading north up the river may be the best course of action, but first sate their curiosity by checking that strange buzzing tree. It's often said that the simplest explanation is often the correct one, and low and behold the source of the buzzing is unsuprisingly, due to a beehive. Although wary of the stinging insects, The intoxicatingly sweet smelling aroma of the bottomless well of golden syrup is almost too good to resist. Nearby the tree there lies a satchel belonging to some unnaccounted for Delver, which upon inspection suggest that they were attempting to fill up and mix potion bottles with this honey; rom an accompanying notebook found in the pack a formula for what appears to be some kind of powerful medicine is bookmarked specifically, along with Gold symbols and sparkles whimsically illustrated by this journals owner around the raw honey itself." As the possible ramifications of this knowledge reveal themselves, the general feeling that their composer was in fact a psychic passes by everyone's thoughts. Strictly speaking the Delvers are holding on to 30 bottles all together, four of which are empty receptacles that a good washing in the stream would make suitable for stowing as well. Luckily it seems that no one present is allergic to bee venom if a few stings get them, but it'll be important to figure just how much the group is willing to trade in exchange for a few stings. In the same boat, it isn't often that a gift horse comes without any strings attached. Naden is not wrong to be concerned of an ambush when you think about it logically. The soundest advice will be not to get too greedy. Everyone is entitled to collect as much Honey as they each are willing to gather, with roughly 6 potions and an empty bottle to fill at their discretion splitting the stash into equal measures between themselves, more or less if they give some of their allotment to a braver Ally. Mini updates will cover the groups attempts at foraging. Once everyone has decided to move forward the Delvers will head north.

Mini update:
Iris steps forward to make a couple attempts at scooping honey... The first attempt ends as one would expect. No sooner than reaching into the hive does Iris yank back her hand to find it covered in painful bumps. Not one to give up immediately though, the Supervisor braces herself and plunges in again... Only to be struck by the burn of bites and stings once more. Braving the stings one last time Iris reaches in as quickly as she can muster... And pulls out a comb of honey at last! The Fellow Delvers cheer her feat of dexterity producing a pay off for the group to use. Iris manages to collect one more comb before tagging out to cool her grimy swollen mitts in some cooling creek water. Whether she'll be up for a second round will have to be seen.

Mini update:
Feeling particularly brave, Lincoln steps forward to try his hand for as long as he can. Plunging in for the first time, the architect tries to remember the technique Iris had used and channels all his resolve into a long uninterrupted warcry as he digs out the honey as fast as he can manage. BEES! BEES! HONEY! HONEY! HONEY! HONEY! BEES! HONEY! HONEY! BEES!
The other Delvers watch in shock at how much honey and venom Lincoln has taken so far without so much as flinching, but something begins to bother the group. The buzzing noise emanating from the tree has seemed to have disappear, or more accurately shift from the hive to the surrounding area. As they call out to their industrious honey collector, it seems like a battle looms just on the horizon.
BEES! HONEY! HONEY! HORNETS! ...Hornets?
Oh dear...

Party Conditions It wasn't sure what had happened by the time the party came to again. The last thing anybody recalled was the bright flash of light raining down on the party. Negerine had chosen caution at the moment and waited to see what the best course of action was, but even in his defensive stance he could realize there was next to no chance of getting away unscathed from a monster that powerful, the fact that all it took to decimate the entire team was one electrical blast didn't even register as a suprise watching Naden fail to so much as nick the bee while the Forest Monitor's deadliest blow barely made an impact. Still, the question remained why was it that the group was now lying sore yet alive in a warm room instead of the cold wet earth. Had somebody come to rescue them? Once everyone has come to and recuperated, It'll be a good idea to search out the answer to this. Battle Log:

I blame everyone who actually decided to grab honey.
Negerine: Look around while everyone blames Naden and Lincoln and silently blame Iris. Maybe there's a clue in the decor?

Party Conditions As the group assembled themselves together to look around, They quickly realized they were settled into the local infirmary at Rundabell's inn, Apple Isle. If one had to guess perhaps a fellow Delver had come and rescued them from certain peril. The Innkeeper, an older but worldly looking fellow by the name of Morgan seems to confirm thus, mostly. "Ah, so you all lived after all? Imagine my surprise to see you four ready to buy the farm after one outing out in the field! Well, three or four days will do that to a couple of green eared recruits thinking to press their luck. Gotta warn you though that any time somebody drags your carcass out of the forest by the lifeliner you don't get that full feeling of envigorizing you normally would, as I've been told. You'll be lucky if you managed to learn anything for pushing yourself that hard, so don't expect any miracles coming your way again any time soon." Scratching his head in vexation at the Delvers, Morgan sighs and smiles. "In any case there's some soup in the pot over there; Go ahead and get something warm in you before you head out looking for Selene's Guild at your HQ. It'd be rude not to thank her for finding you by chance on their recovery operation." Thanking the innkeep, the group filled up and set out to conduct their business in town, gathering information as well as preparing for the next outing, provided that the HQ will even allow you back in of course... Apple Isle Inn: Recover and rest. Chez Caliber: Dine like a king. Lady's Pawn: Sell goods and upgrade gear. Lifeliner: Warp to previously visited Lifeliners. DHQ: Report in or scout out new members. Delver PartyThe party has gained one level. Please review the stat adjustments below as well as selecting one of the additional perks.
