On January 19, 2014, I began my first CYOA. It was a more traditional type of CYOA featuring a band of misfits traversing Ectoscape, an underground civilization which was almost completely dead. It used to be made up of strange creatures called Ectoscapians, bizarre creatures who looked kind of like Mewtwo and had psychic powers, but now Ectoscape was merely home to robots and a dangerous group of demons who had goals of destroying the world above. Our hero, a normal office worker named Steve Johnson, stumbled into this world, and found a cool sword that gave him the power to channel elemental power from special crystals. And so, he traversed through the kingdom, attempting to collect many keys that had been scattered about to enter the strange tower that seemed to be the source of the land's evil. On the way, he was joined by Entrepetron the robotic salesman, Jeff the demon janitor, Amythist the last surviving Ectoscapian, and DoomBOTy the cute pet robot. The CYOA reached an incredible 108 pages, more than any other CYOA to date! (Though it probably loses to BitFPPR in overall length) Admittedly, the CYOA's story wasn't that well planned out, and in my opinion it wasn't very well-written, but I always regretted never finishing it.
BUT THAT ENDS NOW!!!!!!!!!11!1!
The CYOA will now be started back up where it was left off. If you want to see what just happened or re-read part of it, click this link to go to where the whole thing is saved on the Wayback Machine. If you want to advance a page on the archive, DO NOT click the next page button, as this sometimes changes the url to something that isn't saved. In order to get it to work, add "/page2" to the end, and then change the number to the page you are trying to get to.
Finally, the CYOA's branch on BitForums will be permanently shut down now, so this is the only place where you can continue reading it. Since BitForums is basically dead at the moment, I'd rather not update over there if there's no actual reason to.
Where we last left off, everyone went to the City Complex, the last of the dungeon thingies. There they found that the place was covered in a strange purple toxin, which was susceptible to fire. They were attacked by a suit of armor which was seemingly controlled by the poison, but defeated it. Then, they saw trails of the poison leading outside. Now let's hurry up and lead this thing to its conclusion and all that.
Below is the first post, where you can stats for our party (that aren't used), the items in our inventory, a collection of plot relevant reports by a mysterious individual, and a record of how many times people goofed up.
Also, here is a link to a recap of the story. It's about ten pages long, so it's still a substantial read, but not nearly as long as reading the entire thing on BitForums. docs.google.com/document/d/12IwmjfV8PiG0EPsJjoO2UykQwFX4AZk0pL6CjsfjLHY/edit?usp=sharing

Now, the actual update!
Deciding that you haven't missed anything in this area (even though I've forgotten so much about what's going on that you may well have, though hopefully there's nothing important) you exit the building, and begin following the trail. The city is somewhat familiar, with sidewalks flanking large skyscrapers, but where you would normally have roads you see tracks, like the one you arrived on. It seems that the primary means of transportation in the city were these minecarts. However, the tracks are mostly inoperable, due to the corrossive trail crossing over them many times. As your group travels up the road, they reach what looked to have been a busy intersection. Two minecarts, one with some kind of tank on the back, lie next to each other. It seems that they collided somehow. The minecarts and fractured tank are rusted with age. Long trails of poison emerge from the wreck in a stardurst pattern, and several of them seem to enter nearby buildings. However, the minecarts are occupied by a more frightening site: an arrangement of what appear to be bones.
Amythist approaches the wreck, horrified. She mumbles, "These... these are the remains of Ectoscapians..." Entrepetron also examines them. He explains, "Judging by the way these bones have decayed, they've been here for a long time. There's no doubt that they died a while ago, probably near the start of Ectoscape's decline." Entrepetron then turns to the toxin, briefly following one of the trails to the nearest building. Even he seems shocked by what he sees inside, and quickly returns to the group. He continues, "...I think whatever caused the decline of Ectoscape started here. We should keep looking, because we might discover the truth behind that incident." Jeff replies, "Well, we've got plenty of options... Steve, what do you think we should do?"
What will you do now?

Charge Beam, for raising Special Attack, which can be useful in a pinch.
Mirror Shot, for a chance at lowering foe accuracy, so you can get a second chance in case Charge Beam misses.
Magnetic Flux, this is a new move. I assume Doomy's ability is either Plus or Minus, so this will raise BOTH its defensive stats. Also, it just sounds cool.
Iron Tail, for damage.
