The update brought to you by Notsha-Corp®, manufacturer of quality goods like the Notshaliteification Death Sceptre® and Notshaliteification Caffeinated Beverage Mixer®! BUY NOW WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!!!You decide the best course of action is to try and show your good intent. You start by stepping back from the creature to try and show you're not hostile. It's indifferent to the gesture and doesn't move. You then try to talk to it; you say that you know Apollo and that you're his friend. At the mention of Apollo's name the creature stiffens a bit, hopefully this is a sign that you're starting to get through to it. However, it still stands in your way. You cross your arms, slightly agitated. You say that you just want to help. "... ... how?" The creature suddenly speaks. Now you stiffen up. You didn't expect that. After regaining composure, you take out one of the health-restoring potions in your bag in response to the question (a Sweeter Potion, to be exact). For some reason, the creature seems to recognize the item. "A p-potion?" Its stance slackens, and its eyes stare towards the ground now, contemplating. "I... I-I'm s-sorry. I sh-should've recognized you weren't... a-a... s-sorry." It steps aside, and gestures to Apollo. "Please, h-help him. He... h-he wont wake u-up." You walk past the creature and over to Apollo. His upper body and head are both pretty badly burnt, but you still hear his snoring so he's definitely still alive. You kneel down and prop his head up and start to slowly funnel the potion down his throat. You actually have no idea if the concoction will work, but it's your only chance at waking up Apollo and not being potentially murdered by the creature that you just won the trust of. Once you empty the bottle, you lift his head back down and wait. His burns start to heal, and in a few seconds you hear his snoring stop and his eyes open, if not just slightly. "Urrgghhh... Ace? How'd you get here? Where's Pyralis?" He gets up, but stumbles a bit. You catch him. "Whoa... what a doozy of a snoozey. How long was I out?" "I-It felt like a v-very l-long time..." Pyralis chimes in from behind you. "Oh, Pyralis, hello. Have you... have you perchance met Ace here?" You let go of him and you both stand. "... I-in a w-way, yes." She responds. You notice her stance is a lot more reserved now than it was before. "I-I'm glad th-that you're better now, th-though..." "Uh... thanks." He doesn't ask any further questions. "So... uh... Ace, where to now?" Before you can answer, or before Min can zip out, a portal suddenly rips out of nowhere, bathing the area in its ominous light. Out of it stumble two strange creatures. One has a light blue torso that forms bubbles around its neck, with its head looking like a pile of fresh snow speckled with ice crystals. It holds a strange seashell with a blade of ice, of which is being attacked by another creature with a fully blue body, but in a more slim shape with some strange coloration around its hips. This second one has mesmerizing red eyes that look strangely familiar to you. It's wielding two of the strange ice seashells, yet doesn't seem able to break the defense of the first one. The first one laughs, "HAHAHAHA! You couldn't beat me with two seamitars, what makes you think you could do so with two SCALCHOPS?? Just give up already, and mind your own business!" "I beat you with ONE scalchop before, you ice-cream-headed freak..." The second one responds through gritted teeth. "But that time you had HELP!" The first one taunts its adversary. "And besides, said help won't be HELPING you for quite a while now! MWAHA!" It then opens its icy mouth wide and appears to gather energy within it. Noticing this, the second one jumps back quickly as the first one fires an icy beam towards it. It dodges, and blocks with one of the seashells, of which becomes frozen in its hand. It grimaces at this predicament. "MWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Not so skilled now, are we? Don't you get it, Notshalite? No matter how much you train, practice, strain yourself, whatever, you'll never be as strong as me, the great OshaliteX3!!!" The first one then shoots another freezing ray, and the second one isn't able to dodge in time and gets frozen to the ground. It tries to break the ice but can't, and grimaces even harder. "Nowhere to run now, huh? Toooooooooo BAD! Now the question remains... how should I kill you? With that pretty little jello blob out of the picture nothing can stop me... hmmm... what if I take your head as a trophy and then show it to your partner later? Oooooh now wouldn't that just be SPICY!" "You--wait, Cloacky is ALIVE??" "Hmm yes I'm afraid it's an odd tic I got from reading that 'Villainy 101' manual... Not that it matters. You got to suffer thinking she was dead, and now she'll get to suffer knowing that you're dead! It's a two-for-one deal! So close your eyes, because I'm about to make this quick..."The first one walks up starts to elevate itself on a platform of ice while sharpening its seashell weapon. To be honest, you're surprised neither of the two have noticed you yet. Then suddenly, another portal appears, this one more circular and less ominous. Out of it shoots two fuchsia-colored blades that swiftly imbed themselves into the back of the first creature and then two more that slash at the ice hindering the second one, breaking it apart. "OW!!! WHAT?!? HOW?!?!?"Out of the portal now floats a semi-transparent... green... jelly thing. It shouts, "Notshalite, finish him, now!"The second creature acts quickly on these words, throwing both of its seashells at the first one, impaling it from the front as well, before swirling its arms, putting its wrists together, and firing a sparkling beam straight at the first creature. It gets hit directly and screams, "NO!!! I WAS SO CLOSE TOO!!! The beam effectively disintegrates it, presumably killing it in the process. The blue second creature and the new green one then walk over and start talking to each other... "Cloacky! How did you... where did you?" The blue one stutters to try and put words together. "I thought you were DEAD!" "A lady never reveals her secrets, Notshalite." The green one replies, somewhat smugly. The other one scoffs. "But who told you I was dead?"The blue one stomps its feet. "Well, who do you think?? GEEZ. That guy... I really hope we killed him for good this time." "Somehow I doubt it. Beings like him have a tendency to keep coming back. We should still send a report back to DB, regardless." "But how does X3 keep getting stronger?" "I wish I knew. Now first we just need to figure out where we are and then... oh. Oh dear."The green one makes eye contact directly with you. The blue one begins to asks what's up but then realizes just as quickly. "DARN it! I knew we were gonna run into some important world eventually..." "... and we can't wipe their memories either." "Yeah... hey, remember last time we were here when we could just leave without doing anything special?" "Yes... but you know regulations and how they change. Fortunately, I have an idea..." As soon as the green one finishes its sentence, its eyes briefly flash the same color as those blades that shot out of its portal. "... all right. That should do it, now we can leave." "Wait--whuzzit? What did you do??" "I'll tell you later. Now come on, I didn't give us much time..." "You didn't WHAT??"As the blue one yells, both creatures exit through another ring-shaped portal. Before you can even begin questioning what just happened, (for the second time) everything explodes. GAME OVERBut Cloacky, what did you DO??? "I just used Future Sight. If Ace dies, then his world is almost immediately reset. It's... actually quite convenient for our purposes."You... wow. Cloacky, that is absolutely cold-blooded. I feel like I should be impressed, but right now I'm really quite frightened... "Don't be like that. Where's the brash and spunky Notshalite I'm used to? And don't you kill people all the time?"Not as much as I used to, and I PREFER to keep it limited to the bad guys. Now never call me spunky again.-~-> TO THE SNAKE CAVES "So... uh... This update has been brought to you by chocolate-stuffed Oreos; how Oreos should have been from the start. You dust yourself off from climbing and look around before heading off down the tunnel. Or... up the tunnel, you at least hope. After scaling the rocky face from before, you notice the cave walls are once again lined with those weird orange crystals. You're surprised you didn't notice that before, though Apollo doesn't seem to care much and is just waiting for you to start moving. Pyralis isn't exactly that keen on expressing herself either, and seems more focused on both of you. Before you do much else, Min pings you. "I'm unnerved by this Pyralis character. She seems to be <insert name of Ruby's humanoid species here>, but only up to about halfway. Beyond that she's essentially a Fire Person, and has been fighting the urge to transform fully into one. It's taking an enormous amount of willpower on her part... which I think is weird because I thought Fire People only come to be after a person dies. Perhaps one can have willpower after death? I'll have to jot that into my databases." Around this time you begin to start moving. After Min finishes, she tells Apollo the same thing, as well as what you found during your exploration. He also recounts his experiences with Pyralis to both of you, and Min listens in rapture. Heeding his words, you'll have to remember to refrain from the fire attacks with Pyralis nearby. It's not like anything in theses caves was very susceptible to fire in the first place... in fact, it's probably better that you never encounter anything hostile in the caves again. Fingers crossed. "But wait..." Apollo stops and looks at Pyralis, who is a few paces behind you. He leans towards you now, likely in an attempt to keep her from hearing. "You say you found a book with Pyralis's name in it. I mean, this is probably the same Pyralis we're talking about. Don't you... shouldn't we tell her?" "We could... but have you asked her about her past up to this point?" "Well, no. She said she didn't want to talk about it, though." "And we shouldn't. We know she's under a lot of stress already." "You sound just like my sister right now..." "I'm going to take that as a compliment. Besides, we don't want to lose our navigator to a potential overflow of emotion, do we?" "Sure, I mean... Wait--navigator?" "Well you said she knows where we need to go, right?" "I don't remember ever saying that." "No, I-I do know, and i-it's okay." "Oh. That's good, I--Pyralis?!?" Apollo whips around to see Pyralis standing behind him, wearing a meek expression. "Hm. Perhaps I should have forseen this." "Yeah thanks. So, uh, Pyralis, how much of that did you hear exactly?" "S-since the part a-about the book." "So... pretty much all of it?" "Y-yes..." "Of course..." Apollo sighs to himself. "Whenever I try to be secretive, that's when people start listening!" "... C-can I s-see it?" "See... what?" "Th-the book. I... I promise I won't lose m-myself like y-you th-think." "Er. Sure. Ace?" The trio of expecting stares (including Min, surprisingly) drills holes into any resistance you might have against the notion. You have everyone find a spot to sit down as you pull the old scrapbook out of your backpack and hand it to Pyralis. She takes the book in her hands gingerly, as if she expects it to burst into flames on touch. She stares at the cover for a while with a blank expression. She opens the book and looks through the pages; the rest of your group watches in silence. She keeps looking with the same blank expression. At one point, amber-colored droplets begin to form under her eyes. She then smiles broadly and continues paging through the book, almost at a normal pace now, before finally closing it and quietly giving it back to you. "Th-thank you. I... I-I didn't know how much I missed my..." She stops herself. "... no. N-no..." She puts her palm to her face and begins to breath heavy, slow breaths that sound like a crackling fireplace. These breaths quickly speed up and even begin to sound painful, but then cease, leaving the area in complete silence. "Uh... Pyralis?" Apollo speaks up. "Are you... are you okay? What was that?" "I-I... am fine. Ph-physically, I-I am fine. But... no, i-it's not important." "It kinda sounded important..." "If I-I talk about i-it... it would likely only c-cause more trouble for m-me. N-now follow me, you m-must reach th-the peak." Pyralis walks briskly ahead of your group, causing you to stumble to get up as to not lose sight of her (which could turn out possibly very problematic). And when did she figure out that you needed to get to the peak? "I wonder what the problem is..." Apollo wonders aloud. "Do you... maybe think we can help her after all this?" "An interesting proposal. For now, I believe all we can do is follow and carry out what we came here to do." "Yeah, but you thought she'd go berserk just now. How am I... how are we supposed to believe what you say now?" Min's eye twitches. "Well in my defense I've never come across Fire People before these caves. They aren't in my databases at all, so I was just taking precautions considering the circumsatnces. Let's just say we got lucky. Even so, staying in control just now was a challenge for herself, I could tell, and yet somehow she was ready for it. I don't think that she's ready to talk about whatever's troubling her now, though, and she seems like a better judge of herself than any of us are." "... yeah. You're probably right..." And so your group continues walking. As you progress, the tunnels start to get slightly narrower and the orange crystals become more scarce. Hopefully, this means you're progressing well. Even some split paths pop up here and there, but Pyralis always knows the way to go. You go in an out of tunnels, until at one point you sense someone coming around the tunnel that you're supposed to walk down next. You can't quite identify it, but Pyralis doesn't quite have the sense that you have and goes straight ahead, and her and the presence will likely cross paths. That... might cause a problem. Hm. So, what do you do?

This update brought to you by a covert intergalactic espionage group known only in remote parts of the galaxy. The twist is that the only life forms in said part of the galaxy are non-sentient patches of space moss. Since that's the case, HOW ARE YOU READING THIS???You scream in an excessively loud manner in hopes of getting Pyralis's attention. You intended to scream as long as needed, but as soon as the sound escapes you she yelps and whips around, then hurries back over behind you. You then hear noises come from down that side of the tunnel, presumably provoked by your screaming. In a flash, a presence whips around the corner and you feel some sort of blade at your neck. Almost as soon (but not quite), whatever weapon it may have been is lowered and you hear a familiar, surprised voice... "... Ace??" "Amanda!!" First to respond is Apollo, of whom dashes forward and gives your attacker a big hug. She's evidently caught off-guard by this gesture and struggles to respond to it. When he lets go of her she even shakes her head and rubs her eyes to make sure that she wasn't seeing things. "And Apollo too... how did you two get all the way over here?" she asks, puzzled. "It's... kind of a long story." Apollo glances around as he answers. A brief yet painfully awkward silence ensues. "... Well," Amanda regains composure. "you're going to have to tell me eventually. Now come on, you have no idea how glad I am to have found you, both of you, but right now we need to keep moving." She turns and starts to head back to the corner that she came from, patting you and Apollo on the back to try and get you going as well. "And why's that?" Apollo asks, resisting the motion. "Hopefully I'll be able to tell you afterwards... " she trails off. Apollo doesn't press further and goes along. Rounding the corner you immediately come face-to-face with the rest of your party, plus Elliot. Fanfares aside, they too seem a bit overly eager to get on with the trek. That is, until Marshall points out the new friend you made. "Uh, Ace, who's that? ... can I ask what, too?" Pyralis, who had been standing motionless behind your back up until now, shyly pokes her head out from behind you. "H-hello..." The rest of your group stops and looks at her with mixed and complicated emotion. It's possible that they see her as a Fire Person, and are very confused as to why she hasn't tried to kill any of them yet as most Fire People do. Amanda, in particular, seems especially bothered that she failed to notice her before and wears a look of pure anguish. Elliot, on the other hand, steps boldly forward and introduces himself. "Hi there! Y'know, I've never met a Fire Person with temperament and diction as EXCEPTIONAL as you! We really should talk some time... maybe later." He makes an attempt to pat Pyralis on the head, but she jerks herself away quickly. "Whoa there." Elliot remarks. "I guess you're not as social as the rest of your kind." Pyralis has now begun to glare at Elliot, though he makes no notice. She now goes and hides behind Apollo, of whom catches the general mood of everyone and gives the rest of your group the gist in an attempt to ease tension. You also fill in spots that he misses in Min's place. You even mention your notebook and hologram findings. When you're both done, it's hard to say whether the short storytime put anyone at ease; a lot of what you said seems to have raised even more questions among your group, judging by looks. However, they all agree to keep moving shortly after and refrain from asking questions. Before you can say "Toasty Cheerios", the rest of your group is on the move again. Something is definitely up. You decide to catch up to Amanda and ask her what. "Oh... well, after the incident that separated us, some monster started to chase us..." She looks forward as she recalls the rest of it. "Elliot called it a 'Firemoonbean' for some reason, but to me it just looked like a big snake, kind of like the one is Apollo's story. But this one was far bigger and even more fierce than what he described, and has been chasing us ever since. We reasoned that the only way to stop its pursuit is to reach the peak and fix whatever's up there through any means possible, as each time we deter it we're never quite able to finish it entirely and it keeps on coming back, just slightly stronger than the last. This has been happening all day." On that last note, you step back and take a look at Amanda's condition. Her clothes are scuffed and dirty, even a bit singed here and there. The rest of the group is also in similar condition. It's clear they didn't have an easy time with this thing. They're all in good health, though, so that's a plus. After that, you don't walk much farther before a small rumble begins. Your group huddles together and everyone draws their weapon. You follow suit. "That's the monster." Amanda tells you. "Maybe, with you and Apollo here, we'll be able to defeat it for good. But..." She looks towards Pyralis and sighs. "Just be ready." The rumble continues to grow. "Over there!" You suddenly hear Apollo yell. You and the rest of your group turn in his direction. Now, the rumbling stops, and two orange crescent-shaped eyes appear in the tunnel, blocking the way to the peak. Pyralis shrinks behind Apollo. "The Firemoonbean has returned..." Elliot comments. Yet even he doesn't seem keen on confronting this thing. This leaves the first course of action right now up to you. So, what do you do? I can't find any music I like for this so TAKE. YOUR. This update brought to you by McDonald's Cow-Milkshake-Burgers.You run over to Apollo, shove him aside, and raise your fists against Pyralis, for some reason. She screams in fear and hold her hands up. Before you can swing, Apollo swings his scarf and lassos you around both wrists. "Ace!!! What in knife's end do you think you're doing?!?!" You shake yourself. Whoa. You just tried to attack Pyralis, the half-Fire Person of whom could be considered your ally. Let's not make that mistake again. Fortunately, the Firemoonbean is still waiting and not attacking you. Perhaps it employed some sort of mind-control-trick to try and get you to attack your allies? "Somehow I doubt that's the case. But if anyone asks you about this later, that'll be your excuse."Reading mistakes happen, I understand, I just thought this would be kind of silly to write out.
You Fire Up and yell "ATTACK!!!" before charging at the Firemoonbean, deciding that a decisive first blow is just what this battle needs. You plan to reach it first, but despite your speed Amanda soars in before you and stabs her sword straight down in between the creatures eyes in a spectacular motion, dealing a solid 18 damage; it's obvious she's had to face it before and had the move planned in advance. She then quickly steps back, having forced the creature to raise its head fully above the dirt. It's revealed face is made of crusted rock and is covered in rocky spines that point forwards and look almost like talons. Its mouth is filled with lava that drips down onto the ground, and when it opens you notice that it's lined with flintlike black teeth. At the same time, you realize the mouth is being opened at you! The snake lunges, and you jump high just in time to dodge it successfully. However, it quickly swerves after its attack and hits Marshall with its clawed face, dealing 22 damage. This knocks him down, but Isra and Elliot are still advancing. Isra does a last-second sprint and manages to dig her blade into the tail of the beast, dealing 2 damage, but failing to weaken it. Elliot, on the other hand, vaults high using his spear and attempts to stab the monster from above. The move is impressive, but he misses as the snake swerves out of the way. The only person who didn't join in on the attack was Apollo, of whom can be seen a ways behind Marshall, tending to Pyralis. As the group advanced, Pyralis had a sudden and unforeseeable change of heart and tried to stand up in an attempt to join the fight, but collapsed out of stress and had to be caught by Apollo. He wonders what could've caused this change. At this point, you and Amanda are behind the Fire Snake, with Elliot to the side and the rest of your group facing its front. Now it turns to face you, its eyes looking like twin sinister smiles. It jumps out of the soil completely and coils up sideways in a smooth motion, turning itself into a giant hooked fiery wheel that is currently careening straight towards you and Amanda! This update brought to you in a basket filled with stupid plastic string things that never contribute anything positive if you look at them from any perspective that goes beyond two minutes. You quickly jump to the side of the spinning Firemoonbean and attempt to stick your sword into it, despite not actually having a sword. Fortunately for your plan, Amanda does, but you're just going to pretend she's not here. As the wheel passes, one of the spikes lining its interior catches on Amanda's your blade, just like you planned! Amanda swings You swing with strength to make the entire wheel collapse, and then jump on top of it and begin punching its face repeatedly and rapidly. You manage to deal 12 damage before the serpent uncoils and shakes you off, making you take 1 damage. As you land, it swings its tail at you, making you trip and painfully fall on your face, taking another 3. Before it can do anything else to you, however, Marshall hits it with a Blizzard Blast from the side that deals a solid 20 damage! This also freezes half of its face and effectively catches its attention. The ice quickly melts off of the snake, and it opens its mouth towards towards Marshall and Isra and spews a volley of lavaballs at them! These projectiles deal 6 damage to Marshall, who protects himself slightly with a water shield, but deal 17 damage to Isra before she's forced to vanish using magic at the cost of another 5. Elliot tries to attack the Firemoonbean again by swinging his spear wide, and this time manages to swipe 5 health off of it. Now the Firemoonbean is surrounded by you, Elliot, and Amanda, while Marshall's a distance away. You see Apollo and Pyralis behind him, but Pyralis doesn't seem well, and Apollo's occupied by that fact. Isra's... somewhere. You think. This update brought to you by National Amanda Day, apparently. Before anyone can attack the Firemoonbean further it digs underground and heads towards Marshall. When it reaches him, it resurfaces directly beneath him, mouth wide, in an attempt to attack from below. To counter this situation, Marshall fires water magic directly into the mouth of the creature! This propels him upwards and away from the attack, and at the same time deals 40 points of critical damage to his aggressor. The Firemoonbean makes a gurgling sound that was probably supposed to be a screech and is punched backwards by the blast as Marshall lands. He then whips out his potato gun and fires a Tater Flash directly at its face once he locks eyes with it. The brilliant light and powerful force of the move knock its head back, and at this moment, Isra reappears directly in front of it and slashes upwards with her sword into the creature's exposed neck. She deals 4 damage and heals herself of the same amount, while also having weakened and poisoned it. You take this moment to renew your Fire Up and keep your stats bolstered, as well as compliment Marshall on his "sweet 360 noscope". He just looks at you puzzledly. Your attention shifts back to the Firemoonbean, of which is not at all pleased with this whole outcome. It growls (as snakes do) and slithers out of thwacking range from your party. Then, it roars, though you notice the sound it makes has a strange melodic tone to it this time. Everyone sits in silence for a moment, then you hear a voice echo "We come." Then the tunnel begins to shake. A LOT. "Wh-what's happening now?!" You hear Apollo shout. "They come." Pyralis responds, suddenly upright, and very much frightened. "What? Where--what comes??" The rumbling, somehow, keeps growing. At this point, you're forced to crouch to keep your own footing. Eventually, the rumbling stops, but the Firemoonbean still stands. Now, two more pairs of crescent-shaped eyes appear beside it. "... oh." Elliot whistles. "Wow. A trio of Firemoonbeans, never thought I'd see the day..." "This does seem abnormal." Isra follows up. "But... if it was keen to call upon its own comrades when it hadn't before, that must mean we were doing well up to now, correct?" "We'll be lucky to keep it like that from here on..." Amanda grumbles. Marshall just looks on with horror and says "We're all gonna die." Ain't he the optimist? Your party (and Elliot) regroups in front of Apollo and Pyralis. Though Pyralis seems to be handling herself better, you sense no plans to fight from her. At least Apollo will be able to attack normally now. The two new snakes position themselves in front of the first one and stare your group down, awaiting your next move. What do you do? Choose your next move wisely! OH GOD WHY
Ace: See if you can get the snakes to accidentally tie themselves into a knot. You know, by faking them out and stuff.
Apollo: Do something shocking!
Marshall: ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE

This update brought to you by Scrapper's delivery service, making moves on the person who's essentially your secretary since 2011!!You run forward daringly with a plan to fake the two new snakes out so you can attack more easily. As you dash, both of them remain stationary, but once you get within striking distance one of them lashes out at you at blinding speed! Now, any normal person would be dead right now, but as this CYOA's firmly established you are anything but normal. You quickly jump while retaining your forward momentum, landing on the snakes back while narrowly avoiding its spines. But just after, you're attacked by the other new snake, knocking you off for 2 damage. But you don't quit then, you break your fall and run back under the first new snake, forcing the other one to make a 180 and chase you through there. Then, before anyone can blink, you turn, jump, and kick the first snake's face to the side with enough force to sling it to the side, making both snakes catch on one another and crash on the ground with a powerful sound that shakes the tunnel. "Wow. That was both extremely reckless and yet extremely awesome. Now watch your right."You look right and then immediately duck under a powerful jet of fire spit at you by the first snake. It does this again, and this time you're forced to jump away from it. However, now it's exposed, which is just what you needed. You lock eyes with Apollo, of whom has a good Thunda! charge ready. For some reason you both feel totally in synch for this moment. Now seems like a good time as any to try something new... something a bit more... shocking. Apollo clutches his scarf tightly and tosses you the other end. You catch it and land, and then start spinning it and him like a flail. Before too long, you've gained considerable velocity with your spinning, and Apollo now electrifies himself. The electricity is bright and hurts both of you... but you keep spinning. You begin to spin so quickly that you both look like one shining ring, and the force of it starts to lift you off the ground. Now, once in the air, you release Apollo at just the right moment and send him hurtling towards the enemy. As he flies his form is barely visible as anything more than a bright, spinning ball of lightning. He hits the first Firemoonbean dead-on, exploding in a spectacular menagerie of electric energy. This deals a powerful 65 damage to the beast; more than enough to defeat it. It roars one last time before collapsing and dematerializing into the ground, the lava that once flowed through it quickly cooling into a mound of rock. Apollo rebounds back, somehow, and you catch him. You took 19 damage from the move, and him 15. You both high-five, nonetheless. The rest of your group just looks on in awe, their eyes flicking to you two and then the remains of the Firemoonbean and then back while mumbling. Even Elliot's at a loss for words. "Taters and spice... maybe we're not doomed after all." Marshall mumbles. "... whoa. I think you two have to write that one down..."Sensation aside, now's not the time to celebrate quite yet, as much as you both need a breather right now. The remaining Firemoonbeans have managed to untangle themselves, and are none too happy about this. They both move towards your group quickly while moving threateningly from side to side... defense is clearly no longer in their best interests any longer. This fight is far from over (probably). What do you do now? Firemoonbean A: 0/145Firemoonbean B: 130/130 Firemoonbean C: 130/130 Ace: 13/75, 2.5x Atk/Def, fatiguedMarshall: 72/100, max pulseness, Tater Flash charged, Majerble's Mask not usable Apollo: 45/75, fatigued (this guy had full HP before because of a typo)Amanda: 50/50 Isra: 17/35 Pyralis: 90/90, won't fightNew Items: None Persony Bits: NEW COMBO!!! Fluxforce Flail, a high-velocity spinning attack that turns Apollo into a veritable wrecking ball of electricity, but hurts those who participate in the move. (Ace + Apollo) Battle Turn: Ace's fake-out maneuver (stunned B and C, 2 damage as penance), enemy A's fire attack (miss on Ace), Ace and Apollo's Fluxforce Flail (65 to A, KO'd A, 19 to Ace and 15 to Apollo), Marshall predicts death less, enemy's advance in progress. This update brought to you by those occasional Wi-Fi issues that just seem to solve themselves and you have no clue why.You chug a Sweeter Potion to bump your health up to 73 (-1 Sweeter Potion), and then take a breather while everyone else attacks. As per usual, Amanda strikes first. She rushes forward and swings The Cutter broadly at the advancing snakes, dealing 7 damage to both. They both retaliate with a quick combination fireball that launches her backwards and into the cave wall, taking 14 damage. Marshall launches his own blobs of water magic right back, dealing 6 damage to B. That one had blocked for C, allowing the latter to lunge forward and slash Marshall with its hooked scales for 22. However, Elliot jumps in and lands a direct blow with his spear as C attempts to recoil back, dealing 10 and creating an opening for Isra to get in and strike for an additional 1 point (and also weaken it)! Despite the relative effectiveness of the move, it's not an entirely flawless maneuver. Firemoonbean B had its head raised high as Isra struck, and at the first opening it swoops down, mouth open, and lands a direct hit! Or... it would, had Isra not used her magic to disappear just in time, minimizing damage to 10. Amanda now comes in from behind you to try and land an extra blow, but both snakes squirm out of range of her blade just as quickly as they had approached. For big rock monsters, they sure move fast. All of your allies are battling on the front lines, save for Pyralis. You feel your fatigue diminish, but the animosity emanating from the opposition increase. What's your next move? This update brought to you by Yugi-O's! They're... uh... actually saying the full catchphrase would make me very uncomfortable.Your yell for all your allies to line up facing the snakes. Despite not knowing a lick about what you plan, they comply, as they usually do, and the writer questions himself on why he always has to point out how skeptical they are of your ideas every time. Except Pyralis. Pyralis intends to keep the writer sane. Once everyone is lined up, you tell them to use wide attacks as they advance towards the enemy. What follows looks suspiciously like an opening theme song for a children's cartoon, as you and your allies begin to swing whatever the most potent tool you have, be it weapon or magic, back and forth in a rhythmic pattern while marching forward together. Admittedly, this works better for some and worse for others; Isra's sword isn't going to reach anything and you look like you're trying to start a dance trend with your fist waving in front of you. HOWEVER, Marshall's created a veritable wave of water magic aided by gusts of wind from Amanda's sword swings, and you can't quite see what Apollo's doing but whatever it is it's supercharging the waves with powerful electricity in an impressive display. The opposing snakes are immediately caught unawares by your party's avant-garde assault and both take 32 points of damage and are forced backwards. But all good things can't last forever. At one point during the attack, Amanda, of all people, trips on a rock. Her gusts of wind cease, causing Marshall's magic to peter down and splash on the ground, which is then zapped accidentally by Apollo. All of this forcefully stops your party's onslaught with a painful shock. Nobody takes any damage, thankfully. You do take damage, though, when the snakes send an exploding fireball careening towards your group. You get knocked back and take 6 damage, Marshall flies slightly to the left of the tunnel and takes 13, and both Amanda and Apollo get flung to the right and take 4 and 8 damage respectively. Isra had vanished at the cost of 2 HP as the fireball was incoming, and Pyralis was too far back to be affected. However, right now she has a highly distasteful expression, likely due to the fire that you were attacked by. Going back on the offensive, both of the Firemoonbeans burrow back under the ground. Or to be more precise, one of them does, and the other jumps up and situates itself in the ceiling of the cave. All you can see is their glowing eyes rush towards your group from both above and below--what do you do now? This update brought to you by black hole spaghettification, showing that while smart people are great at naming things, they have no apparent knowledge of how spaghetti is made. You raise your fist and ignite an Eagle Punch as the enemy draws near. Right before it can get close to you, you lunge forward and punch the ground with your fiery aura, creating a sizable explosion. The explosion forces the lower Firemoonbean to resurface, but fails to damage it, and it promptly takes this chance to open its mouth and bite down directly on you! You fail to dodge and take 1 damage, getting enveloped by the molten maw of the beast. Inside, flames whip around and sharp teeth puncture your skin for an additional 28 damage. Outside, the rest of your allies have to dodge roll out of the way as the ceiling Firemoonbean attacks them from above. Amanda tries to fly up and stab it, but she's shot down by a lava blast and takes 14 damage. Marshall takes the chance and conjures a bolt of ice before shooting it at the snake, dealing 26 damage. Just like last time, this agrravates the snake into focusing on him; it lashes down from above, but misses as Marshall performs another dodge roll forwards and under it. Elliot then jumps in and whacks it with his spear for 5 damage as it recoils back up. Seeing that the latter snake is occupied, Apollo runs over to the other one and tries to zap it into releasing you. He charges up Thunda! and hits the snake right between the eyes as it chews on you, dealing 6 damage but hurting you with the shock for 2. The snake doesn't release you, though, and you're no closer to escaping it. The snake is hardly impeded by having you in its mouth either, and swings itself forward, knocking Apollo to the ground for 8 damage. What do you do now?? oops I forgot this updated howdare
Anyway, this update has been brought to you by FRANTIC FLUTESTo address your imminent peril of being eaten, the rest of your party begins frantically attacking Firemoonbean B. However, the creature plays right into the panic by dodging anything thrown at it while its partner spews flames at your allies from above, much to the dismay of your team. Sensing the distress outside (and quickly getting sick from all the weaving around the snake is doing), you decide to reach towards the back of its mouth an attempt to hit it in the throat. This isn't so easy, you quickly find, as sharp teethlike rocks lining the inside begin to scrape you. Nonetheless, you manage to reach the creature's inner throat, having taken a grand total of 14 damage. With a final burst of determination you bring your fist back, and punch it HARD. Outside, your allies aren't having an easy time dodging the jets of flame from the second Firemoonbean, having taken 13, 8, and 4 damage in party order while trying to juggle a defense towards it with an offense towards the first. To complicate the situation further, none of them can seem to land a hit as their target keeps slithering in every direction. Just when things seem to be looking especially grim, the first one suddenly lurches, as if hit by an invisible force. Your allies take this seeming miracle of a chance and... uh... do a thing. Isra appears first above the Firemoonbean and stabs her blade straight into its rocky skull. It sticks, but instead of slicing she plants her feet on its neck and pulls back, forcefully opening its mouth halfway for you to escape. Apollo follows up and lassos his scarf around the lower jaw of the beast, pulling down to complete the maneuver. You quickly crawl out onto the cave floor, and in your wake Marshall fires a veritable torrent of water magic straight down the gullet of the beast, dealing 50 damage! Apollo now releases his scarf and the Firemoonbean's head snaps backwards; Isra also slashes her sword out of its head for 8 while healing herself and weakening and poisoning it. Amanda rushes forward last, and deals a flurry of powerful slashes to the Firemoonbean before finishing in a skillful straight lunge for a total of 18 damage. Before you can finish off the monster, though, its ally crashes straight down on top of your party and brutally swings its tail in last-ditch effort as to scatter all of you for 2, 22, 15, and 19 damage in party order. Isra is able to dodge by vanishing at the cost of 10 HP. Amanda isn't so lucky, and is thrown directly into the cave wall. She hits it dead-on and falls to the floor where she lays, knocked out. Apollo, noticing this, isn't even able to yell "No--!" before he's also hit and sent flying. Currently, your party (and Elliot) has been sparsely scattered in a circle around the two remaining Firemoonbeans, and everyone's in pretty bad condition. On the bright side, Firemoonbean B should be dead before you can say "Toasty Cheerios". What's your choice of move now? Firemoonbean A: 0/145Firemoonbean B: 3/130, 0.75x Atk, poisonedFiremoonbean C: 49/130 Ellliot is assistingAce: 20/75, 2.5x Atk/Def Marshall: 2/100, 12 pulseness, Tater Flash charged, Majerble's Mask not usuable Apollo: 6/75 Amanda: 0/50Isra: 3/30, vanishedPyralis: 90/90, won't fightNew Items: None Persony Bits: None (Yes, Amanda is KO'd, and while that has more impact than Ace being nommed it's a lot more noticeable so I don't feel like mentioning it in the log. Confusing, I know, sorry.) Battle Turn: Everyone's frantic attacks (miss on B), Ace's throat punch (no damage, but stun to B, 14 recoil damage), C's jets of fire (13, 8, 4 to Marshall, Apollo, Amanda), Isra and Apollo's rather violent mouth-opening attack (freed Ace from B's nomming), Marshall's torrential hydroblast (50 to B), Isra's sword un-stab + Night's Cruelty (8 damage and weaken to B + 8 HP drain and poison), Amanda's finishing flurry (18 to B), C's last-ditch tail swing (2, 22, 15, 19 to Ace, Marshall, Apollo, Amanda, miss on Isra, KO'd Amanda), Isra vanishes (10 HP), B is basically dead (enemy music)
