This update brought to you by Steak-umms refrozen steaks: "They're not just a steak, they're a MIS-steak."You fidget around for a second before the voices in your head decide that you should sell the Slogan Blades, Majerble's Mask, the Scaerf, and the list of sellable items. You nab the first three of of your party and set them all on top of the counter for Pwaaluigi to look over. Then you take the list of sellable items, roll it up, and place it on top of the pile like the garnish on a fancy meal. "Hmmm... Pwaaluigi must commend friends' care of equipment," he says, taking the weapons off the counter and stowing them, "the items which friends give to Pwaaluigi are in even better shape than Pwaaluigi had hoped! He then drops a sack of Pwaants on the table in a sudden, statrtling motion. "Friends' exchange monies, here." +4000 PwaantsYou take the bag of cash, but then realize; he didn't exchange the list of items! You look back at him, and demand that he give you money for it. "Henh? Friend wants to sell list of sellable items back to Pwaaluigi? Pwaaluigi hasn't even given list to friends yet, technically..."He seems to ponder this conundrum for a moment. "... Pwaaluigi will take it, and give friend this." He then holds up a golden blocky thing that you immediately recognize as a Welding Bit. "Friend drives a hard bargain, selling things to Pwaaluigi that Pwaaluigi already owns..."You hear Amanda mutter something along the lines of "You've gotta be kidding me..." from behind you. With that done, Pwaaluigi sits back down and lays out the list again, hoping that you'll still do some business with him. This update brought to you by procrastination but it's not really procrastination because I already got half of my work done and it's not due until the day after tomorrow right? RIGHT??? I'M RESPONSIBLE. You decide to leave Pwaaluigi's shop. Pwaaluigi waves goodbye to you... somehow, and you continue walking in the direction that you were heading in before. Pwaaluigi's signs soon fades out of view. Eventually, Elliot tells you all to stop walking and to start turning around. "We've taken a wrong turn. We should've headed thataway." he points to a hole in a cave wall some steps behind you. "We'll go there and then set up camp once we get some distance in. It's getting late." Believing him, you all start to change direction, but then Pyralis speaks, "W-wait!" She walks up to Elliot, "I-I know t-the peak of t-this mountain is t-that way!" she points a finger behind Elliot and stares him straight in the eye. "T-the path you s-said to f-follow o-only leads deeper i-into the caves." Elliot glares back at Pyralis. "Oh, and I suppose I should believe YOU. You've only been in these caves for a year, while I've been in them for THIRTY!" Pyralis now stops and gives a suspicious look, or at least as suspicious as you suppose she can look. Her facial features don't seem very distrusting. "H-how did y-you know how long I-I've been trapped in--ah!" Before Pyralis can finish her sentence Elliot has equipped his spear in his hands and it has placed at her neck. He leans in and growls, "I know these caves better than any of you EVER will. If you try to dispute that fact, you'll all just perish, and we know you don't want that." He takes the spear away from Pyralis and looks to your group, "So, what'll it be, me or her?" He wears a scary and mean face for a moment that quickly softens back to his usual happily blank expression, though the initial image seems burned into everyone's eyes already. Even Isra seems a bit disturbed. "Answer smartly," Min warns, "something tells me he means more than a walking path when he asks that question."

This update is brought to you by spooky ghosts that wail and boo~ You tell Elliot that you believe Pyralis more than you believe him. The nasty glare creeps back over his face upon hearing your response. "... Fine then. I guess you idiots just want to be stuck in here." In a swift motion he readies his spear and, without hesitation, stabs it straight through Pyralis.
But he misses. As if by a miracle, Pyralis dodges to the side just in time. Elliot curses.
"W-what a-are you doing?!?" Pyralis's airy voice crackles. "I know you're trying to lead these people astray!" Elliot swings his spear wide, Pyralis ducks, and the rest of your party scrambles to not be stabbed. "So to eliminate the problem, I just have to get rid of you!" "No! Stop i-it!" her voice crackles again, and in that instant she's hit in the head with the shaft of Elliots weapon. "Gah!" Pyralis squeaks, and she quickly crumples to the ground. Elliot raises his spear high to deal a fatal blow, but as he raises his weapon you pounce on his back, wrestle it from his hands, and swiftly incinerate it in your palms before rebounding off of him. "What the--?" he tuns to your group, all of having taken a fighting stance. A flash of confusion and terror comes over his face, "Wait! H-hold one--hold on one second! Can't you see I was trying to help you??" You all remain in an offensive stance. Elliot spews gibberish for a moment before figuring his argument won't be heard. Then he turns to run. Marshall catches him with a Blizzard Blast. Isra winces. "You don't understand!" Elliot wails as you approach, "If you try to confront it at the peak, it will just kill you!" "'Zat so? Well what're we confrontin', then, exactly?" Marshall asks skeptically. "I... I'm not sure. But it's there! You have to believe me!" "No, technically, I believe we don't." Apollo states sterly. He then begins helping Marshall tie Elliot's limbs with rope. Then Pyralis is brought over, breathing soflty, and laid on a blanket as tents are set up and dinner is prepared.
Elliot is at least courteous enough to help Isra figure out how to work his equipment so the meal can be made (though there's no doubt she lied to him so he'd tell her). While everyone eats relatively normally, there is a stagnant silence as the dinner concludes. It seems Marshall had been troubled about what Elliot had said about there being something deadly at the peak, as he then divulges to the group. "Even if that is the case, we still have to reach the peak." Amanda reassures, "Whatever is there, we have to get rid of it, likely for the sake of the entire mountain." "There are a LOT of things on this mountain..." Isra agrees. "You know, like people." "And it's not like we'll get out of the caves any other way," adds Apollo, "the only exit was at the peak, if I remember correctly..." "Right, right... I'll... I'll sleep on it..." Marshall gets up and heads off to his tent, leaving his plate on the table. Eventually everything is cleaned up and people begin heading back to their tents. Pyralis's blanket-cot is brought into Amanda's tent, and soon enough everyone's asleep. You even hear Elliot's snore as you lay your eyes to rest.
Come morning, you all pack up and are ready to go... except for one thing. What do you do with Elliot?
New Items: None Persony Bits: None Recent: Pyralis almost DIED, Elliot is pounced and his spear incinerated and him restrained, and apparently there's something at the peak that will kill you, but you still gotta go anyway.

This update brought to you by deja vu.You think for a moment, and then ask Marshall to hand you a frying pan. Not sure what you're up to, he obliges nonetheless. You then walk over to Elliot, pan in hand, and stand and slam the pan on down over the span of the man with a "BAM!". Elliot is knocked out cold before he could even begin to perceive what you were doing or why you suddenly started rhyming, and you use this opportunity to make a witty one-liner with the phrase "lights out" despite it having no connection to the situation at hand. "Well... none of that was very nice."You ignore the robot and delegate yourself to carry the unconscious bag of flesh that is Elliot. With Pyralis now in the lead, your crew heads out. "W-we shshould reach the peak before t-too long." Pyralis states, "I-I... I-I'm h-honestly quite a-afraid..." "But you're still going through with it, right?" Apollo walks up beside her, "That right there shows how brave you really are!" Pyralis looks away, but smiles. "S-sure. Brave i-it is, then." The rest of your walk passes in the same quiet you've become accustomed to. Notable though is that now you practically have to step over orange crystals protruding from the cave walls; they've gotten to be everywhere. This has to mean you're getting close. Eventually Pyralis stops, and as if on cue a large rumble shakes the caves. "The peak must be moving again!" shouts Amanda over the noise. Your party crouches to not lose footing. Pyralis curls up into a ball and starts mumbling again. The rumbling soon stops, though, and Pyralis takes a breath and calms quickly. "Th-the peak is right through h-here." she says. She motions to a smallish opening in the cave wall lined with a particularly thick layer of orange crystal. "Please be c-careful..." "We will." your party responds (in their own respective ways). You leave Elliot with Pyralis and say no more, squeezing yourself through the crystal-lined opening. She doesn't follow you. Before you do anything in this area, though, are there any preparations you'd like to make? Like switching around gear. Actually just switching around gear. Do you want to do that? This update brought to you by Imported Ramen Co. I just made that up.So you decide to not change gear even though you have, like, a whole extra pair of Nice Shades just sitting in your magical backpack of various nicknacks. The area in which you and find yourself in has the same dirt ground you're used to, but above is like some sort of big dome made out of the orange crystal, complete with those eerie purple veins pulsing through it. And yes, the purply spots are indeed pulsing. Now that you see them so largely and up-close you notice that they expand and shrink in a disturbing rhythm, as if they're alive. You let your eyes follow one of these lines; it goes up from the ground, over to the top of the dome, where at the center it then merges into a big orange-and-purple pillar that comes down and stabs back into the ground. It occurs to you that this must be the same big orange crystal you saw as you were approaching the peak. Sure enough, you squint to look past the semitransparent dome and manage to just barely see the sky outside. But on that note then something else occurs to you: as you approached, you could've sworn you saw something moving inside this oversized crystalline pimple. You scan the area but see nothing, and your vision once again stops at that stabby-pillar at the center. Seemingly out of options, you gulp and approach it. Once you near the pillar, your better judgement takes a very poorly-timed lunch break. You reach out towards the pillar and touch it. Upon contact a slew of voices suddenly begins to swirl around in your head, screaming some kind of indecipherable lament. At the same time you get an invigorating rush of vitality and, of all things, joy. This is all too much, perhaps, as you recoil your hand immediately out of shock. Min, however, is all for it, "That. Felt. Amazing. Do it again!"You politely decline and instead invite your allies over to report. None of them seem to really figure how to respond to this. Apollo volunteers to also touch it, but Amanda very much forbids him to do so. Isra suggests destroying it. Min says to touch it again, but for longer this time. Marshall figures touching it seems counterintuitive towards any living person trying to stay sane, yet destroying it seems to be of similar relationship to any sane person trying to stay alive. "But how would touching it be potentially deadly?" Isra asks, "It is just a pillar!" "Call it a hunch..." he replies, "Elliot said there was somethin' deadly at this peak, right?" Isra just purses her lips and shrugs, turning to you for the final say. So... What do you do now? This update brought to you by deja vu. And yes, Lenrap, yes it did. Before doing ANYTHING, you dig through your bag and procure your extra pair of Nice Shades. You then also find Min, and then present these Nice Shades to her as equipment. "For me? You shouldn't have!"You put them on her face-screen and, somehow, they stick. The end result is a robot wearing sunglasses. Nothing more, but certainly nothing less. why did I spend time on this But now the moment has passed. Back to business. Wary of the potential dangers involving damaging the pillar up close, you tell your party to back away. Once at a reasonable distance, you single out Marshall and direct him shoot at the pillar with his potato gun. "Huh, now there's an idea. I'm still not sure 'bout all this, but I'll do it." He steadies himself and focuses, then fires. His aim is dead-on, and starchy tuber meets pillar with a resounding BWAAAAANNNG that shakes the area. That said, the spud still just bounces off of its target, leaving no visible damage. You're hesitant to approach it, though, with the sound that it made. You tell Marshall to shoot it again, and he obliges. BWAAAAANNNG "Darn... still nothing." "Well, I wouldn't say nothing." Min zips out to correct him, "While you're not damaging the structure physically, I get faint energy readings each time one of those potatoes hits." She now turns to you, "If you don't want to destroy the pillar, which I think would be a good idea, you can try hitting it with more... how should I say... 'oomph', and see what happens then..." "I've got all the 'oomph' we need." interjects Amanda, motioning to her sword, "If that sound was any indication of things, that spine is clearly the source of the disturbance here. We need to destroy it!" "Well now isn't that an odd conclusion to come to..." "It'll probably have the same end result anyway..." Marshall mumbles. But both Min and Amanda heard, and now turn directly towards him, "And what do you mean by that?? "He's startled by their sudden unison voice, but continues anyway, "W-well, I mean, what could be giving off those energy readings besides..." he catches himself, "er, I mean, call it a hunch?" Min and Amanda glare at him, but let him off easy. They both now turn to you. You have a bad feeling about this. What do you do now? Compromise. Indifferently hit the pillar with an intermediate amount of "oomph"

Post by OshaliteX2 on Nov 26, 2017 20:19:16 GMT -5
This update brought to you by the people that made Sonic Colors. You pause, put your thumb up your chin and think for a moment. You ultimately decide to attempt a compromise between Min and Amanda, and reason to hit the pillar with an intermediate amount of "oomph". But now it comes down to deciding who can hit the pillar with the most intermediate amount of "oomph". You first look at Amanda, who would certainly hit it, but unlikely with the finesse that you may or may not have in mind. Next you see Marshall, but he already had his chance, and water magic probably has too much "oo" to be a solid "oomph" what. Next down the list is Apollo, and he seems fairly capable-- "NO. Min interrupts you out loud, I do NOT trust him to zap that structure with anything 'intermediate'! Try Isra."Having overheard, everyone turns to Isra. If she's at all startled by this sudden turn of events she's not showing it. "So I guess it falls on me, then?" she says simply. "Yeah!" "I'm right here, you know--oh you're already taking to Isra that's fine..." Apollo mumbles. "Try shooting magic at the pillar." "But also try slashing it!" adds Amanda. "Yeah sure--but not too much."Isra just raises her palms and smiles, "Do not worry, I can handle this." Isra walks up to the pillar, sword in hand, and enters a magical stance. She begins a short incantation, and eerie black smoke swirls around her weapon. Then, without hesitation, she winds up and swings it at the structure. The blade digs into the pillar just slightly, and the magic from the blade seems to seep into the dent it made before dissipating altogether from its source. Isra then briskly walks back to you group, and just in time as well. Once she gets just within talking distance the whole area begins to shake wildly. The shaking intensifies quicker than it ever has before in the caves, and then the ground beneath the pillar breaks in a deafening explosion of rocks and crystals. Everyone looks aghast at the emerging figure. Where the pillar was is now a large rocky creature with a huge lava-filled mouth and shining orange holes that form the shape of eyes. It rises up tall, though not quite as tall at the ceiling of the dome, and you notice it has arms that extend from its sides with huge rocky palms and fingers. "Ooh." Min does a scan. "Okay. The bad news is that I have no idea what that is. The good news is that I already have the perfect name for it: 'Rock Pastree'. 'Cuz, y'see, if you look at it it kinda looks like a Pastree..."She trails off as the creature gets even taller. I actually kind of does look like a Pastree... even though it seems to be firmly rooted in the ground. You hear a voice echo inside your head as Min finishes, without a doubt the voice of this creature. "You finally come. You make the choice to disturb me. You did not heed your warnings. Now I must kill all of you." "Why's it just standin' there?" Marshall says. Apparently he didn't hear the memo. "Actually... scans indicate that only you can hear that thing 'speak'. Can't say why, but you might want to take note of that."Oh goody. On that note you quickly shout to the rest of you group that the Rock Pastree wants to kill all of you. "Well that ain't good... and yeah, it does look kinda like a Pastree." The rest of your group nods in agreement. The Rock Pastree itself roars, and its voice echoes in your head again "Come."You hear a familiar voice echo "We come." Suddenly two Firemoonbeans break out of the ground on both sides of the Rock Pastree. Amanda curses under her breath and readies her weapon, as does everyone else. The Rock Pastree opens its mouth slightly and starts letting magma seep out of it towards your group, both Firemoonbeans beside it standing defensively. So what's your plan? This update brought to you by the Argentum Trade Guild. As the lava flows towards you, you and your party are forced back from it. As you step backward, you look behind you, and realize that the way you first entered has been blocked off by a large stone slab protruding from the ground. It must've appeared when you weren't looking. While you were noticing that, Marshall was eyeing the Rock Pastree–it seems that the lava is coming from its mouth flows out to its sides as well where the Firemoonbeans are standing sentinel. If he can do something to harden the flow at just the right time, he might be able to trap them... he begins casting up an ice spell. At about this time the lava has now encroached upon the Firemoonbean's bodies, and your back is almost to the wall. "Uh, Marshall, can you like maybe do something about this lava now???" Apollo panics. Marshall says nothing, but he's already way ahead of him. He raises his right hand, ice spell swirling in its palm, then brings his other hand to it and places the former near its wrist so that the left hand now slightly above. He then lowers his arms, aims at the lava, and continuously casts water magic in his free hand while firing the initial freezing spell from his right directly through it. The temperature in the room immediately plummets. Whatever Marshall is doing is creating a high-powered cold blast that flash-freezes all the lava in an instant. The lava cools into a slope of rock that traps both Firemoonbeans and, on top of that, leads straight up to the Rock Pastree. Said Pastree now has a rather troublesome mouthful of that rock to deal with. "There ya go, consider that somethin'." He smiles somewhat smugly to himself. You should probably capitalize on this moment. How will you do so? Rock Pastree: 350/350, if it was making a sound right now it'd probably be going something like "derf, derf-derf, derfffff!"Firemoonbean A: 145/145, immobilizedFiremoonbean B: 145/145, immobilizedAce: 75/75 Marshall: 100/100, max pulseness, Tater Flash charged Apollo: 75/75 Amanda: 50/50 Isra: 35/35 -- Elliot is with PyralisPyralis: ??? While your buddies beat up the firemoonbeans, you should charge up the ramp of frozen lava and eagle punch the rock pastree in the face.

This update brought to you by deja vu.Marshall yells to your group, "Well don't just stand there, go!" Your party begins running up the rock slope. Amanda reaches her target first: Firemoonbean A. Immobilized, it is unable to do anything as runs up to it, springs off the ground, and slashes it from beneath with her sword as she soars upwards for 7 damage. While it recovers from the recoil, she flips her sword around, somersaults forwards and downwards, and brings the edge down upon its skull in a powerful descent for another 14. It tries to then fling her off and into the crystal wall, but she rebounds off of its head gracefully. On the other side, Isra is repeatedly striking Firemoonbean B, having dealt 4 damage and weakened it while dodging clumsy bites and blasts of flame from her opponent. Apollo reaches it at about this time as well, and starts shooting it with lightning, racking up damage with another 6. The creature notices this, however, and starts trying to shoot Apollo with fire instead of Isra. Apollo dodges just in time, only taking 3 damage from a slight singe, and shoots another bolt as he sidesteps for 3. All the while you've been firing up to the max, and now rush up the slope at breakneck speed to the Rock Pastree. As you reach the top, you jump high into the air, ignite an Eagle Punch and promptly sock it in the face. Your punch connects, and the resulting explosion is deafening. You're blown up and away with numerous rock shards, your attack having dealt 23 damage. That probably cleared its mouth. The Rock Pastree is silent for a moment. But as the debris from your attack clears, you realize that its arms are now raised and ready to... move, or something. Before you can react it slams them down, but not on you. Instead it seems to dig them into the ground. As it does this, the tunnel begins to shake violently. You lose your footing and tumble down the slope, taking 1 damage. You look up, and the rock that was there previously looks to be quickly sinking into the floor. "Resourceful, but naught more than resistant."The Firemoonbeans are now freed as well. Firemoonbean A lunges at Amanda, but she deftly dodges. B lunges almost identically at Apollo, who tries to protect himself, but gets slashed and knocked back for 12 damage. Now you feel something at your feet, and all of a sudden large stone pillars spring out around the room. One manages to slam into Amanda from below, dealing 13 damage, and in the process placing her on top of it. The room is now crowded by these structures, making movement difficult. The Rock Pastree now raises its arms from the ground. At this moment Min pings you, "It's going to try and knock the pillars into each other and onto your group. Watch out!"You look at the Rock Pastree just in time to see it slowly wind up... Uh-oh. What do you do now? Rock Pastree: 327/350 Firemoonbean A: 124/145 Firemoonbean B: 132/145, 0.75x Atk Ace: 74/75, 2.5x Atk/Def Marshall: 100/100, max pulseness, Tater Flash charged Apollo: 60/75 Amanda: 37/50, atop a pillarIsra: 35/35 -- Elliot is with PyralisPyralis: ??? Oof I'm not sure what to do here. None of the team has good defensive moves iirc. Can Marshall like use ice magic to make an igloo shield thing? Maybe Ace can counter a rock pillar for crazy damage? I do have one idea though.
Amanda: With the help of wind magic, expertly jump across the falling pillars and then use Dragonfly Wave on the Rock Pastrees face when you're close enough.

This update brought to you by gracious donations by some guy who I think wanted me to assassinate someone--you know, for the funds. But, like, I think I just won't. You know how it is...The Rock Pastree's clawed hand smashes the pillars around it and dust swirls around the area as the structures start to fall around you. Its windup is too quick for you to properly warn your allies, so you'll have to hope that they manage to avoid the oncoming danger on their own. You, on the other hand, have decided to take a crazy and highly improbable risk. You sprint over to where you can tell a pillar will collapse and hold your arms out sturdily above your head to catch it. The pillar begins to fall down, directly toward you, as you planned... Meanwhile, Amanda painfully-yet-swiftly gets up just in time to see the Rock Pastree slash the pillars near it and into the rest, sending them falling towards her allies. She's immediately pulled to try and protect them, but quickly shoves it aside, instead focusing her sights on the Pastree itself. As the pillar at her feet begins to wobble, she leaps off of it, aided by magic, and lands skillfully on another falling pillar. She glances at the falling pillars and dust storm and feels a shot of anger, "If that creature hurts a hair on Apollo's head--no, not just him now. All of them. But if so, I swear..." Harnessing her magic again, Amanda leaps off the second pillar and onto a third, then quickly a fourth, closing the gap between her and the Rock Pastree in a matter of seconds. As she approaches it she readies her sword and leaps up high, faint sunlight glinting off her weapon as she attempts to strike from above. Of course, the Rock Pastree notices and brings its hands up swiftly from its sides in an attempt to counter the attack and crush Amanda. Amanda, acting on a split-second impulse, urges the winds to pull her up just before the palms of the beast crash together. She dodges. Then, in a counter-counter attack, she starts spinning her blade diagonally downwards as she descends. Magic aids her momentum, and she slashes through the Rock Pastree's hands and then brings the heavy part of her sword straight down between the eyes of the Rock Pastree, dealing a total of 38 damage. Finished with her attack, though, she ends up just standing on top of the Rock Pastree, disoriented. The creature begins to lean forward and get taller. Amanda, unable to jump away, falls to the ground in front of it and takes 4 damage. It holds its arms out to its sides again, slash marks visible from Amanda's attack, and seems ready to crush her—for certain this time... At about this moment you bring down a gigantic stone pillar on its head for 31 damage and successfully halt its attack. Amanda's eyes widen in both surprise and relief, and she uses the opportunity to get up and swoop back to where you now stand, your face dripping with sweat and the stone pillar held in both hands. "Nice catch."You also took 16 damage from, ahem, "countering" the pillar. You drop the pillar and the dust from earlier clears. Marshall protected himself with an Ice Barrier, though just barely, and has sustained 14 damage. Apollo seems to have avoided the brunt of the attack with lucky placing and a bit of Reflectricity, though the latter hardly protected him and he ended up taking 30 damage. He's still standing, though. Isra is nowhere to be seen (10 HP from vanish). You notice you can't see the Firemoonbeans either; the rubble from the pillar attack seems to obscure your perception of their normally noticeable and glowy eyes when they hide, and right now they seem to be hiding. The Rock Pastree removes the pillar from its head and makes a scraping sound you presume to be its grumbling. It plants its hands in the ground again, but you can't quite see anything happening. As far as you're sure, your number one priority right now is getting a peg on those Firemoonbeans. Marshall's behind you, Apollo is to the right (your right) of the Rock Pastree, and Amanda is right next to you. What's to be done now? Rock Pastree: 268/350 doing a thing?Firemoonbean A: 124/145 hiddenFiremoonbean B: 132/145, 0.75x Atk hiddenAce: 58/75, 2.5x Atk/Def Marshall: 86/100, max pulseness, Tater Flash charged, behind youApollo: 30/75 to the rightAmanda: 33/50 Isra: 25/35 vanished-- Elliot is with PyralisPyralis: ???
