So for those of you that don't know, Splatoon is a third-person shooter by Nintendo for the Wii U, where you shoot ink and try to cover the town in ink of your color. You play as adorable squid children, who can turn into squids at will, and swim through ink of their color at sanic speed.
They just released a Global Testfire, which is a pseudo-demo where you can try out the game at certain times, playing online using random matchup for 4v4 games. The full game comes out on May 29.
From what I've seen so far it's pretty fun, although I've only played one match. I'm definitely getting this when it comes out.

Haven't had a chance to play a match yet, but from the gameplay I've seen it looks pretty fun. I might be able to get it, but I'm not entirely sure if (since it's probably online multiplayer only) my parents would let me.
Also Squid Girl did karaoke at the convention last night and this thread reminded me of that

I've kinda been impressed and have been saving up a bit since E3 2014 and I'm definitely going to buy this when it comes out. From what I've seen it just looks really colorful and fun. I might even get an amiibo if it's available enough.
Once we have enough people we must join forces and form the SQUAD or something and wreck people online

That would be amazing.
I think I'll get this, maybe via walking to the store because SUMMER!

Less than a week until Splatoon releases!
I don't have it pre-loaded though, because I always buy hardware.

Yeah I was thinking of something else. They announced another testfire session on May 23rd. Unfortunately, I won't be home that day. But if anyone else has time then I think it's 3-4 PT or something.

The testfire has made me ridiculously hyped for this game, even though I failed at it, so I'm definitely getting it. Hopefully when the Friends system goes live there'll be enough people with it to do a kun turf war.

Apparantly in Europe, the truck carrying all of the splatoon special editions (the ones that include the squid amiibo) was stolen, meaning europe does not have any special editions or squid amiibos. If you live around there, I hope you can be a squid and a kid someday...

I'm planning to walk to the store to get it, so I'll be hyped the entire day, much to the dismay of my Jeopardy team for Language Arts final practice in my last hour of school.

So Splatoon's been pretty fun so far, picked it up today along with a girl inkling amiibo. The online runs pretty smoothly as expected after the testfire, which is nice to see, since that seems to be the main selling point of it.
Also Keeby is 3stronk he wins every time someone pls nerf nao

Onlines great, haven't gotten any issues from it so far, only complaint is the lack of switching weapons without having to leave the room.
I decided to try out the paint roller and it's starting to become my favorite. It can clear a huge path which is good for at the beginning of the match to paint your side quicker. I should try to invest in some other weapons too, I'm almost at level 11.
Also the main hubworldplace is pretty hilarious. Everyone drawing miiverse squid stuff and whatnot.
I really like the music for this too, and the controls once you get a hang of it (I'd recommend you turn off tilt controls), this game was so fun I played it until 4am halp

I've only played it for about 30 minutes because I had a Girl Scout overnight but what I played was fun. I failed my first online match and played the first 2 levels of single player.

I actually find it easier with the motion controls, although I thought it would be the other way around. The teambuilding seems to group high-llevel players together more often than not, but so far level doesn't seem to provide an overwhelming advantage. I've seen teams of players under level 10 wipe the floor with players over 10.
Also, Spyke is awesome.

What are you talking about Judd is clearly best character go awa- My favorite weapon type is the shooters, or whatever they're called. Those are the ones I'm the best at, at least. I like how the Miiverse posts in the hub are 33.33% people praising the game, 33.33% squid puns, and 33.33% squidward.

I use a Charger that has little range but fast charge time. I end up failing majorly a lot either because
A: My teammates camp at one spot the whole time and never spread out B: I keep on missing key enemies that I need to kill and my team gets overwhelmed C: My internet craps out halfway during a match and finally, D: My team has 3 rollers against 4 level 20 aerospray mg users
Also Squidward memes

Bumpity bump bump.
So rainmaker is fun. I find that my team alwys gets killed during the "Set down" animation so our counter always stops at 1. Also I think the rainmaker is a better weapon than the inkzooka.
I tend to use the splash-o-matic, splattershot pro, and the original Splat roller. I mean, have any of you ever used the splasho-matic? the thing takes hardly any ink but still inks and kills well. (And is not horrendously overpowered like the Aerospray)
