A friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep.Welcome to Night ValeWell, dear listeners, this is a thread to discuss Night Vale Community Radio! .....Okay I'll stop acting like Cecil now. For anyone who hasn't heard of Welcome to Night Vale, it's a podcast that can be described as "HP Lovecraft meets small town community radio". It's fairly interesting, at least in my opinion. It can be found here, among other places. For those who have heard of it, here's a place to discuss it. And so, to avoid spoilers in the first post (because I'm weird like that), the first question is... Do you have a favorite weather? My personal favorite weather is "Absentee" from Episode 37. I'm not entirely sure why, though. Maybe it's because it can get stuck in my head for hours on end and I don't mind it, maybe it's the lonely feel the song has, or maybe it's something else entirely.

Man, I love Welcome to Night Vale. I think I'm on number 46 or so. I can't really say that I have a favorite weather though.

Just a warning, Episode 49 is amazing and split into two parts.
I went to a live show on May first and it was awesome.

Night Vale. A small community where a dark planet floats over head, a race lives under the bowling alley, and we all believe in a smiling god. Come join us! It's a lovely place. Much better than Desert Bluffs at least. Just stay away from anywhere the Sheriff's Secret Police have forbidden and you'll be fine. Probably.

((There's a link to what we're talking about in the first post))
Yes, and we have a Glow Cloud! ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GLOW CLOUD
...Sorry, what was I saying?
EDIT: We do not look around. We do not look inside. We do not sleep. Our God is not a Smiling God, and we are ready for this war.

No, wait, stop, I'm not quite to the revolt yet. I'm getting close though.

Aaaah sorry! I thought that you would've at least heard that quote! Here, have a Glow Cloud gif to make up for it!

It's okay, if I haven't hear it and forgotten it I could probably have made it up anyway.

It looks like the last one I hear was 48-Renovations, the one before Old Oak Doors. I'm literally right at the revolt.

Are you done with it yet? I'd like to discuss whether a certain scene is in character for Dana. Also you use [ spoiler ] without the spaces for spoilers

Yeah, I finished and I've seen some past it. What scene did you want to discuss?

Okay, so... When Dana saw the Smiling God/brilliant light in the Desert Otherworld, she seemed to recognize the danger that it posed, so why didn't she want Night Vale to fight against it and StrexCorp? It seems out of character for her to me. Or maybe I'm overanalyzing.

Well, like you said, Dana recognized the danger. She and Carlos realized that the only way to stop the light was to close the doors from the desert side because there they weren't in danger there. You saw how what's-his-face from desert bluffs was effected. The only reason that Cecil, arguably the most resistant guy in Night Vale, wasn't taken under was because Steve managed to shut the door. I'm not sure about during the rest of it though, because you're right: it does seem kind of hard.
