ain't so simple with this one.
Hello,
I started this CYOA about a year and a half ago, and surprisingly I have yet to finish it. (We were also about 2/5 through too.)
Though now I am ready to bring it back, the CYOA where I try to narrate Bastion style and use an excessive amount of commas and semicolons!

For those who want a quick summary:
For the story up till now...
Chapter 1, Part 1
Chapter 1, Part 2
The kid pick up his lifelong friend; a 2 by 4 plank with a goofy grin drawn on it. Well it's a touching reunion.
His old friend comforts the Kid in more ways than one. He sees what's left of the Rippling Walls; years of work being undone in moments.
The kid moves on; sees a lobster going by the name Clammy holding a talking pie, telling him to follow. The kid don't stop to wonder why, and follows.
The kid sees something in the distance; Greenbacks.
They are known to lurk in the sewers of the city; must've surfaced in swarms due to the quakes.
The kid bops them good, sends them flying. Has a feeling his old friend's gonna come in handy a lot.
The lobster and pie float past a ravine; It's a bit of a drop.
The kid jumps... and then, falls to his death; I'm just fooling.
The Kid lands on a Breaker's bow, and it broke. Next to it was the Breaker, long gone.
Folks say there was a Breaker that single handily saved the city from fungi crawlers, he however, was never found; till now.
Clammy and the pie reappeared, leading the way to the Bastion; the kid followed.
Farther down the path, someone's up ahead. That a evacuator? No, that's a specter.
The kid mistakes him for a Gasfella; strikes him hard. Plank passes through, does nothing.
The specter tells the kid what he is; what he was.
He was known as Pisces Aphrodite, who for a long time faked the role of Pisces Gold Saint.
His role however, only lasted as long as the golden spray paint on his surplice did.
The specter reveals a short cut; the kid takes it.
The kid makes it to the Bastion at last, as do plenty others.
A quake hits hard. Keeps going. Gets stronger.
The kid looks down at the city; Something emerges from the earth. Lavos
Panic breaks out; so do the spikes from the monster.
The spikes land, they detonate; destroying everything in it's wake.
The event was forever engraved in the kid's mind. The Calamity
A spike hits the Bastion; it detonates.
The kid wakes up; sees his lifelong friend leaning on the wall beside him, grin still beaming. Everything, just like several days before.
The kid gets up, looks through the window; realizes it was a dream... or was it?
He feels something; puts his hand into his pocket. Finds a note; "The Calamity is coming."
The kid didn't think he could have been more awake; Nothing in the city can stop it.
He needs to find someone or something that can. Somewhere beyond the city's walls.
Not going to be so simple. The city of Ba Sing Se, now called Banen suo Long; is known for not letting it's citizens leave.
The kid needs a plan; he also considers visiting a few places before going. As he likely won't be coming back.
There's a bakery nearby, aswell as a plumbing company owned by two good folks; there's likely some other places of interest.

For those who want a quick summary:
The story started with the Kid having a dream about the future... and the Calamity, Lavos.
After awaking, the kid knew he had to leave his home town, which is now called Banen suo Long, and find a way to stop the Calamity.
Before that leaving, the Kid buys a new items called monster capsules. He then visit's his old home and finds an heirloom that belonged to his late mother.
Kid ends up getting caught trying to leave, got put in Cinderbrick Fort, but manages to escape both the fort and the city;
with the help of new allies that is; a bird named as Praile, a canine named Leif, and a fox named Alex.
After the escape, Alex left the group; the rest ventured through the forest called "The Unknown".
After getting help from a Woodsman, they make it to a place the people of Banen suo Long called "The Far off Kingdom";
City's real name being The CrumbleBeanz Kingdom, ruled by Princess Zia and prime minister Zuff;
From them, Kid learned he needed to collect the three crystals of light; Treasures of the Ura clan, to stop Lavos.
The Kid and his allies were given a box containing instruments of the Ura clan, said to be magical if the right tune was played.
With the Crystal of Courage being their first goal, they took a train to help them quickly get near to the Heart of the Unknown.
At a tavern they meet a Moogle named Montblac, who joins the group. After an eventful train ride, they jump off it and land close to the heart of the forest.
They enter the Jawson bog; go through a series of nightmares before waking up to find themselves tangled in red branches.
A Shadowy figure blocked their path, but Alex re-appears and challenges the figure to a game of Monopoly;
all while the rest of the group sneaks by and finds a large tree, and within the Crystal of Courage... and it's guardian, Exdeath.

Chapter 1, Part 1
A proper story is suppose to start at the beginning, ain't so simple with this one.
Now here's a kid whose whole world got all twisted, leaving him stranded on a rock in the sky. He gets up.
Feels the floor beneath him crumble as he sets off for the Bastion; where everyone agreed to go in case of trouble.
He finds his lifelong friend just lying in the road.
(Who or what is this life long friend?)

Chapter 1, Part 3
The kid grabs a backpack and his lifelong friend; set off for the bakery; he always enjoyed the atmosphere there.
He opens the door, the baker in blue was quick to notice, but slow to realize.
"Welcome! Our bakery uses only the finest ingredients! Upper-cust goods for not much dough!- Oh, it's you!"
The baker relaxes a little; asks how the kid is doing. The baker in purple comes in from the back room; excited to see the bakery's favorite customer.
she asks the kid what he wants. The kid buys a baguette and several rolls; sees a slice of pie. She notices, said that they just started selling them.
The baker in blue mentions the boss wasn't to thrilled at the idea of selling baked good other than bread, but let them give it a go anyways.
The Kid buys the slice, says that he won't be able to come back for awhile, but not to worry.
The kid stops by the plumbing company, he is welcomed by two friends;
He worked with the brothers plenty in his line of carpentry work; got to know them well.
The kid asks if there is a way out the city from the sewers, there wasn't.
The pipe that leads out is grated for several yards; longer than the wall itself.
The shorter brother said he may know another way out, There is one thing with free clearance to leave the city; Scumbags.
(aww, don't give me that look. I didn't mean it in a bad way.)
all them owned by two shady characters that run the garbage business.
The brother says one might be able to hide inside a garbage bin until it got ingested by a Scumbag,
then let it slosh on out of the City for disposal; slip out undetected.
The brothers ask the kid why he's trying to leave; kid tells them his dream and of the note.
The taller brother became pale like he saw a ghost, the kid wasn't sure what part scared the tall one more, Lavos or the specter.
Both brothers decide to teach the kid some moves, moves that requires perfect sync with a partner; bro attacks.
The kid learns all the moves currently feasible to preform with his lifelong friend; Splash bro, Swing bro, and Bounce bro.
He asks one more thing before leaving, asks the brothers to watch over some friends, in case Lavos isn't stopped.
The kid went to the general store, saw some rope and arrows for sale, shame he had no bow.
He ponders what to buy, and what method he should use to leave; he also thinks once more if there is any place to visit before he leaves.

Chapter 1, Part 4
Kid buys some rope, a short gardener once said something along the lines of "if you don't have rope you, are going need it."
The kid realizes there is one more place he should visit before he leaves... to pay his respects.
He doesn't get far before a merchant stand catches his attention.
A man is selling items called monster capsules; says it will be a thing of the future.
With it one can capture a monster, and then send it out at will as an ally.
The kid buys five and one extra, then moves on.
He walks down to a little abandoned part of city, the day fungi crawlers got over that city's part of the wall left a bad impression.
The kid approaches a small worn down house; the house of his late mother.
He waits a bit, then goes in. Aside from some cave-ins from ceiling and the layers of dust, it hasn't changed since the day he left.
The kid goes into what is left of his room, sees the hole where he took the plank out of the wall; on that... fateful day.
He notices something in the hole, must be a heirloom that belong to his mother, what it is, I don't know.
The kid goes back outside, looks at the house once more. Says he won't be back for dinner; that he already misses her.
He and his lifelong friend finish saying their farewells, and leave.
The kid went looking for a garbage bin to hide in, comes across an unfamiliar cherry tree, sees a stranger leaning against it.
Kid gave a little nod to be polite as he past. The Stranger mentions that there is someone the kid needs to see, someone broken.
The stranger points at an abandoned alleyway. The kid nods again and goes that direction; finds small entrance to a little ravine, realizes where it leads.
He sees the Breaker, one from his dream. The kid goes ahead and does the proper thing and buries him, was about to set the Breaker's bow on the grave,
but saw a note attached to it. "I have at last defeated every last fungi crawler, the city is safe; I can now rest in peace. I have but one last request.
I know it's a customary to bury a warrior with their weapon, but I ask that my bow doesn't die with me. Use it."
The kid takes the Breaker's bow; the bow of a hero. The string is ready to snap, but can be replaced.
The kid gets back on a main road; finds a garbage bin. The smell of barley and spoiled blueberries starts fill the air; A Scumbag had approached, though too soon.
Kid Decides to give the monster capsule a try, it sucks the Scumbag in, it resists, cracks the capsule, but in the end gives in.
The kid gives it name, can't have it getting confused with the others. Names it Trubbish; heh, a little play on words.
The kid steps in the garbage bin; waits a while. He suddenly feels movement; a Scumbag came to ingest the bin.
Now all the kid has to do is wait for the Scumbag to leave the city's gates and drop him off. ...That was the plan.

Chapter 1, Part 5
The kid sits back, it'll be a little while longer.
He sees several cabbages; a cabbage cart must have been knocked over earlier that day, kid goes ahead and munches on the cleanest one.
The scumbag stops; is now preparing to empty it's load, the kid mutters that he has made it; not knowing of the consequence.
The kid suddenly feels himself slowing floating up; then suddenly, the kid vanishes.
He reappears back within Banen suo Long in the Cinderbrick Fort;
Little did the kid know was there a device made to warp anyone within a certain radius outside of the city walls if they spoke any of the key words.
before he can gather is bearings, the kid is knocked out.
Kid wakes up, though he is unsure if he really did; he's greeted by the magic lobster and it's talking pie.
Sees the crumbled remains of the city, and of the Bastion; All the kid can hear is the blow of the cold wind.
The only other survivor he sees is the specter, though he's not sure if he counts.
Kid looks at where he is, somewhere along the wall; on what's left of the Cinderbrick Fort.
Suddenly a pain hits his head; kid passes out before putting together what just happened.
The kid wakes up, greeted by the darkness of a dungeon cell.
Finds a lunch with a note saying an interrogation will take place at midnight.
Banen suo Long is known for their cruel interrogation of any suspicious characters, so cruel people don't consider the interrogators human.
They would boil a large pot, hang the victim upside down, and dunk them in whenever they feel like the victim is still hiding something.
The guard by the door is old Jim Row, a big fellow known for beating prisoners that don't keep quiet.
Kid peaks through the bars a little, sees his lifelong friend's head leaning on the cell bars next door, must be where all the kid's stuff is too.
Ol' Jim says with a smirk that interrogators are going to boil two pot worth of water; the first for coffee, the second for the kid.
Coffee can only mean a it'll be a long interrogation, and the interrogators are likely to get twitchy after that coffee.
Jim continues; says the two owners of the garbage industry didn't like how you tried to use their business as a way to escape;
so the two brothers are joining in on the interrogating, and they are far more terrifying than the rest.
The short one will make you preform a series of unimaginable tasks, while the tall and gangling one will make you question your sanity.
The kid has till midnight to escape his cell; he needs a plan.

Chapter 1, Part 6
Four hours left till interrogation.
The kid thought about the two brothers that will be taking part in the interrogation;
tells ol' Jim if he can contact someone. Jim lets off a short laugh, says the kid can't contact anyone before interrogation.
The kid looks around, finds a spoon.
He tries to dig a way out.
Two hours left till interrogation.
The kid hardly scratched the wall.
Kid fakes a deep cut injury, Jim says he'll tell the interrogators to add salt to the pot they're boiling.
The kid tried reaching for his lifelong friend, but he would need an arm three times the length to do so.
One hour left till interrogation.
The kid desperately tried to make the cell door and guard explode by thinking it,
the interrogation time drew near, the kid started to shout this thought out loud.
Ol' Jim couldn't take it, he opened the cell door and stepped to teach the kid a lesson.
The kid wouldn't have been able to take Jim on empty handed, but suddenly the kid's lifelong friend fell on the ground, creating a loud rattle.
Jim turned around to see what it was; kid had an opening. He blocked the guard's vision by spinning his helmet around, and then ran to his lifelong friend.
Ol' Jim straightened his helmet; the kid made him mad now. The guard drew his blade, the kid readied his friend.
Kid moved first; preformed Splash bro, Swing bro, and finished with Bounce bro. Jim fell down dazed; the kid's speed blew his mind.
The kid took the jail keys; opened the cell containing his stuff. Looks like they were storing all sorts of soft fabrics and pillows here as well,
Kid sent out Trubbish, told him to stuff himself with as much of it as he can. The kid wrote a note to the plumbing bros, regarding the two other brothers;
he then tied the note to an arrow he found in storage, and shot it out of the window; the string to the Breaker bow snapped after that.
The kid recalled Turbbish, and run down the hall a little, sees three odd looking folks in a cell.
A dark-red bipedal chicken with white hair, A brown vixen with hair and claws of a deep cyan, and
a somewhat short, anthropomorphical canine being with green fur all over his body, and a chest of a white like color.
Kid could tell from their eyes that they didn't commit any real crime; He let them out.
The red one was about to introduce himself, but it would have to wait, the other guards found them.
The kid turned around to face their direction; the other three did the same; these guards are no match for them.
They stormed through the group of guards, knocking them all out as they go;
The Kid could over hear a guard up ahead asking another why the garbage bros haven't showed up;
turns out they were challenged to a tennis match by their rivals, one thing they couldn't turn down.
The four fought their way out of the prison sector of the city, and to the top of Banen suo Long's main wall.
Their rampage came to a halt; the Marshals have come.
The Marshals are the keepers of peace in Banen suo Long, good folk, but get on the wrong side of the city's law, and they'll stop you in your tracks.
It's a shame their captain is no longer with them, the kid could have probably explained everything to him.
Kid hears the sound of Musket fire; blows off a chunk of the wall next to the kid, that was a warning shot.
The Kid asks that the three cooperate, puts them in the monster capsules, sends out Trubbish, jumps into him and braces himself, and then commands Trubbish to jump.
The Marshals run to the edge of the wall, surprised with the kid's action; the wall is the tallest structure in Banen suo Long, and is always getting taller.
Trubbish lands, stays completely still; the marshals figure the kid gone, but they make their way down to make sure.
It took them a good ten minutes to get down the wall; and they were moving fast.
When they got there, there was no trace of the scumbag, Kid, or the other three.
Out of sight, at the forest's edge; Trubbish comes to a halt, let's out the kid, as well as most of the pillows and fabrics he ingested earlier.
Kid lets the other three out of the monster capsules, then with a little needle he presses the reset button to unsynchronize the capsules.
They sit down a bit to recover, The kid apologizes for the sudden plains, lets the three introduce themselves.
Turns out the three got arrested for stealing an old man's lunch at a carnival, they mistook it as a freebie, considering how there seemed to be an endless supply of it sitting there unwatched.
They went to court shortly after, got the majority of the jury on their side when their lawyer told the people how they help a little girl find her pet kitten,
but it seemed like none of that mattered, the higher ups saw them as too odd and suspicious.
Now fairly rested, the Kid needs to head to the Far off Kingdom, should be just past these woods; the forest that the people of Banen suo Long would call "The Unknown."
No telling what they will come across there.
The kid thought about the two brothers that will be taking part in the interrogation;

Looks like they were storing all sorts of soft fabrics and pillows here as well,
Kid sent out Trubbish, told him to stuff himself with as much of it as he can. The kid wrote a note to the plumbing bros, regarding the two other brothers;
he then tied the note to an arrow he found in storage, and shot it out of the window; the string to the Breaker bow snapped after that.
They stormed through the group of guards, knocking them all out as they go;
The Kid could over hear a guard up ahead asking another why the garbage bros haven't showed up;
turns out they were challenged to a tennis match by their rivals, one thing they couldn't turn down.
(Going to add the rest in the next post.)
