"The slimes only have a small amount of HP each, so clearing a bunch of them out with a few broad swings shouldn't be too hard, and after that I vote we focus on attacking the statues, starting with the Odd Statue." *Sleights>Broadside *You swing the knife in a broad motion, taking out three normal slimes. You fight your way through the rest, managing to kill two more, and dodging the rest. "If we get that massively flammable lantern slime outta these kinda of guys, perhaps we can chuck some embers their way and wipe them out in one go? Preferably near the statues to ensure maximum efficiency." *Sleights>Ember(Torchfire) *Getting an idea, you take out your torch (non-blue so you don't end up losing it) and swing it around, hoping the burning slime scatters, unleashing an onslaught of fire. *It works, to an extent. While it seemingly has no effect on the statues, SP or otherwise, you do kill ten more of those slimes. The torch almost went out, though, so best not to try that again. *You notice that you got no gel from any of the slimes, regardless of how you killed each one. Something definitely isn't right. *The statues start to glow, aside from the odd one, bringing you back to your objective. You set to work, but your knife is hardly making a dent. There has to be a better way to do this... *A couple of Blues hit you, reducing your HP to 50, but that gives you an idea... "Pick up one statue and hit the other statues with it." *You attempt to pick up a statue and throw it. *You manage to barely topple the odd one onto a slime, which gets up unharmed. *Any other bright ideas? Slimes: 15x Blue: 15x, 30/30HP Statue 1: 47/50 HP, 12/20 SP (It's charging something...!) Stardust Type Statue 2: 47/50 HP, 12/20 SP (It's charging something...!) Whatever you do, do not get sick. *You attempt to fight the statues before they get off their charge. *However, that's not happening so long as that knife does only one damage. Physical attacks are useless against them. *Realizing this, you roll to get the heck out of dodge....and succeed. *However, no attack is obvious--a light shines, and...well, nothing. But you're fairly sure there were only 15 greens left before... Slimes: 30x (Weren't there only 15 before?) When all else fails it's usually time to pull out your finishing move.
Use the [ホライゾン・ブレイク] HORIZON BREAK while calling your attack super dramatically like one of those foreign illustrated picture plays and see how effective it is on the statues.

Hmm... What we're trying isn't working... Keep doing what we're trying!!! Technically what we're trying to do is kill everything in sight. Vincent may also count as this if you hate him enough. *Out of options, you decide to resort to one of your items...again. >Item ->Weapons -->Horizon Breaker ===>Whatever the heck this thing does! *You take out your shiny new--ugh, pocket lint. *You line yourself up with a good number of slimes (and one of the statues too, bonus) and point your wand. *You pray to whatever gods exist and try waving it. *Nothing happens. *You flick with it. *Nothing happens. *Desperate, you try channeling your precious SP into it, screaming something about dawn, gloom, and bones. Light fills the wand and shoots out of the tip, hitting every green slime in the room and dealing 8 damage to the statue, draining its SP. Seems casting spells depletes the user's SP as well as the target's. Good to know. *The statues all begin to charge as you make a quick mental note of the Horizon Breaker's effects... Horizon BreakerWhen activated, shoots a beam of light at the target. If the target is defeated, the light pierces the target and hits any enemies behind it. The beam itself is rather thin, and only lasts a brief moment, so it can only target one enemy. =5 Mag, 5 SP. Solar/Stardust Type. Strikes like a Solar/Stardust attack. Slimes: Blue: 10x, 20/30HP Statue 1: 40/50 HP, 0/20 SP (Charging again...) [Soulless: Magic attacks drain HP and deal x10 damage. Lasts until SP is at least 20%.] Stardust Type Statue 2: 40/50 HP, 8/20 SP (Charging again...) Stardust Type Statue 3: 45/50 HP, 8/20 SP (Charging again...) Stardust Type Statue 4: 45/50 HP, 8/20 SP (Charging again...) Stardust Type Odd Statue: 19/20 HP, 80/100 SP (So now you charge?) Nebula Type *Fight -Sleights *Items *Magic -Horizon Breaker (5 SP) -Slime Staff (At least 5 SP) *Drive -??? (Horizon Breaker, Slime Staff) [I'm sure you can do something with those items...]

Wow, I don't know what's more amazing; How great Horizon Break is or the fact that 25 green slimes were standing in a perfect line.
Depleting one of the statues for now would be the wisest course. The less they summon the better. Odd statue can wait for being drained at the moment.
Can't we summon slimes too? Actually let's just start dual wielding like a ninja or something and start slinging slimes and lasers at the same time. Maybe something cool will happen.

*Running--oh forget it we all know you're almost done. *You finally get it in your head to sling that slime staff around and finally summon the first thing you may ever get... *... *You shoot a laser at it. Light goes everywhere. *Except you keep the laser on as it jumps into the air, spinning rapidly in a circle. *Light flies everywhere, causing all the slimes to splatter except for yours. *The statues all crumble, aside from the odd one. However, your new best friend understands what you must do and slams itself into the statue. *Before you can object, you notice the statue rapidly losing HP until it crumbles as well. *You love this thing. You learned a Drive: Nova Limit.Drives are moves that require a certain amount of time to perform. Nova Limit requires the Slime Summon and the Horizon Breaker (or something similar). All SP costs are taken into account, but physical Drives may require HP to perform, so be careful!*You loot absolutely nothing from the statues, but this "Drive" will definitely come in handy. You wonder if Vincent might be able to get one to proc with you... *...wait. Vincent! *Poor guy's still banging on the door. You have half a mind to leave him there, but then again...there's this feeling of dread. It's almost as if you're being watched...by something other than the fourth wall, whatever that is. *Watch your back, Marko...I don't like this. Baby Slime: Atk.6 *Fight -Melee >Knife -Magic >Horizon Breaker (5 SP) *Act -Door -Wall [Something's off about this wall here...] -Dread [... Well? What's the problem? Scared, Marko? Why not ask your friends?] -Statue Dust -Slime Remains *Items *Summon -Baby Slime (Active) (At least 5 SP) *Party -Unsummon ...

I nominate that we name the slime Disco Inferno.
Now that we hoarded all the xp for ourselves go loot the monster remains before letting Vincent in at last. Maybr from there we'll check that wall and our sense of looming dread.

"Now that we hoarded all the xp for ourselves go loot the monster remains before letting Vincent in at last. Maybr from there we'll check that wall and our sense of looming dread." *XP? This is Terraria I thought we established this. *You check the slime remains. You find very minimal amounts of gel, but, sadly, you can't really make use of it. *The slime, which you consider naming Disco Inferno, seems to look on these slimes with a small sense of regret. Maybe that's because it's also a slime... *However, another feeling overpowers this regret: loyalty. This thing isn't about to turn tail on you. You have faith in it. *The statues yield nothing but stone, but in such small amounts that it's not worth it in the slightest. Disco Inferno seems to look on these remains with a sense of hatred, for reasons you can't quite say. You'd love to comfort the little guy, but you decide that maybe now isn't the time. *Now IS the time however to go get Vincent. *However, this sense of dread... ...I see. You are no slouch on your own, Stardust. *You look around for the voice, but find no one in the sudden darkness. Hm. Don't you see me? I can't be THAT hidden... *Suddenly, a man materializes from thin air. He wears a black coat, covering his head and face with a hood. And here I thought the Void couldn't overpower your godlike perception. Then again, that's aided in part by your little helpers, isn't it? No matter. It is a choice you cannot easily reverse without losing what gives you the edge. *You cringe. Whoever this guy is "*has certainly done his research on you." I realize who's giving the narration, Marko. You can speak directly with me. *... *You say that won't happen and ask who this person is. ...I see. Maybe you aren't quite ready for what comes next. *The man throws a strange dust over you. Before you can ask, Stardust energy surges within you, restoring your HP and SP to full. I will test you. Win, and you will receive something you're missing. Survive, and I will open the Nebula Door, as it can only be opened by a wielder of powerful magic such as the kind I can use. *That sounds great, but you'd rather not get carried away. *When you try to escape, however, a strange wall blocks the door. You feel as if your heart is restrained somehow, unable to go further beyond that point... *...chained by the man behind you. That wasn't an offer.*...fine then. *Let's get dangerous!Disco Inferno: 6 Atk. Black Coat Paragon: 100% Resolve {Drop this to 50% to win.}, 1000/1000 HP, 200/200 SP (Celestial Bond-Prevents escape. Affects user and opponents.) Void Type [1000 HP for a test?! That's a bit much, even if he has 0 defense! And what's with his type?! I've got no choice but to fight...but how can I win?!] *Fight -Attack >Knife -Magic >Horizon Breaker (5 SP) *Sleights *Drive -Nova Limit (10 SP) *Items

Hmm. I'm gonna go on a limb and say this guy might be super resistant to our Stardust attacks. Maybe we can use a sleight like fore or broadside with DI to boost the effectiveness of his attack power or hold down the edgelord we're fighting long enough to kick him in the mouth with our knife.
But wait.. Resolve. I guess the more sensible thing is to be a nice guy and talk him down so actually let's not get dangerous.

Going off what Spin said, try your best to block really good (or put on an act if you do happen to get hit). Maybe if enough of his attacks don't seem to do much damage his spirit might weaken.
And if you do happen to attack, do it at good moments. Stay safe, punish with jabs rather than smashes if you know what I mean...

"Hmm. I'm gonna go on a limb and say this guy might be super resistant to our Stardust attacks." You assumed right! "Maybe we can use a sleight like fore or broadside with DI to boost the effectiveness of his attack power or hold down the edgelord we're fighting long enough to kick him in the mouth with our knife." *Seems Marko's all for-- "But wait.. Resolve. I guess the more sensible thing is to be a nice guy and talk him down so actually let's not get dangerous. " *... "Going off what Spin said, try your best to block really good (or put on an act if you do happen to get hit). Maybe if enough of his attacks don't seem to do much damage his spirit might weaken. " *Er-- "And if you do happen to attack, do it at good moments. Stay safe, punish with jabs rather than smashes if you know what I mean..." **sigh* ""Let's get dangerous," you say? Then summon Darkwing Duck for maximum dangerousness." *Actually I kinda wonder if that could work. Let's see how this plays out. *You tell the Paragon that you really would rather not fight... "I might as well use normal quotes now. Anyway, that's not going to stop me. If you're going to take on anything, you have to be ready for surprise fights like these." *Jerk's got a point. In Terraria bosses could spawn anytime they pleased so you're kinda at Koop's mercy here. "Exactly! Therefore, I must test you now." *You tell him that he's forced your hand, then, and attempt to summon Darkwing Duck... *Which only results in Disco Inferno sculpting itself to look like him before collapsing back into it's original form. *The Paragon and Disco Inferno give you dead stares. (-5% Res) *You tell him he's still forced your hand. "How so?" *Sleights -Broadside >Paragon *You make a broad slash at the Paragon. *He dodges, but he cringes a bit at the stealth pun. (-5% Res) "Are you done?" *...well, we're out of commands, but Disco Inferno makes a leap at the Paragon. *It misses horribly. "...NOW are you done?" *Well you doubt Disco Inferno's going to stop leaping at him. "Alright then...my turn." *Drive -Links >Void Trinity ->Rave ==>Marko *The Paragon makes a sudden dash for you. You roll out of the way, but the Paragon keeps going, forcing you to try to block with nothing more than a knife. *It doesn't go well. The attack hits you full force, and he's not done. He dashes a few more times before charging a final dash, which you barely duck under. *Despite being hurt, you find it within you to make a quick lunge at the Paragon. You land a blow, dealing 6 damage, but you run before he can counter. *You're actually legitimately afraid now. Disco Inferno lands a hit too, dealing 6 more damage. The whole ordeal takes 15 HP away from you, and...uh...let's say the next few commands won't quite go through...well enough...(-10% Res) (Void Static-Commands may fail to reach Marko. May also prevent you from seeing what happens that turn. Lasts two turns.) Disco Inferno: 6 Atk. Black Coat Paragon: 80% Resolve {Drop this to 50% to win.}, 988/1000 HP, 200/200 SP (Celestial Bond-Prevents escape. Affects user and opponents.) Void Type *Fight -Attack >Knife -Magic >Horizon Breaker (5 SP) *Sleights *Drive -Nova Limit (10 SP) *Items [Hello? Are you still there?! Anyone?! Ugh...my head...]

Paragon seems to be weakened by us making Marko look stupid, so we better shout stuff at him to override the interference with the key ideas.

Roll: 5/6 [I...I hear you but it's a bit late...!] *Alright hold on, I can at least do the narration to let the commanders know... *Our commands didn't get through, but Marko still holds up well enough. Seems the Paragon is doing another Link... *Drive -Links >Void Trinity ->Raze ==>Marko *He seems to be floating in midair, charging an attack. Luckily Marko's not an idiot--he gets out of the way as fast as he can, barely failing to not be hit.
