lel I'd recommend using something other than stones (like songs or something) There would be other ways to activate the spells than just stones. Noted. I was planning to give you songs to use as spells anyway, so I was already considering something like that. There's already a way out! There's two doors, one on each side of the chest.

Run through one of the doors headfirst, then play a jaunty oboe/panflute song.

You decide to look through the doors before heading through. The door to the right leads to a wide hallway. You can see some doors along the hallway and two at the end. The door to the left leads to a library with many shelves of books. Inside you note a rather large golden beetle that looks somewhat unfriendly.
Rather than doing the sensible thing and looking for a better weapon than a Oboe and a couple silver frisbees you decide to charge in there full speed and play random notes on the panpipe you totally had this entire time. If I could draw this is where I'd put a home stuck esque "this is stupid" gif. The beetle hears your attack upon music and flees, fearing for its ears. You get the feeling it won't always be that easy to repel them.
Looking around, a book catches your eye. It is entitled "Thaddian Weapons".
Thaddian Weapons. Magical crafts of Enchanted Silver, these weapons are some of the best known relics of thaddian culture. Finely honed and enchanted, they never dull and the only limit to their use is the wielders skill. You flip forwards many pages. Thaddian weapons disguise themselves when not given power. A mighty sword may appear to be a simple walking staff or a spear to be a rounded flagpole, but they cannot hide their materials and magical nature and thus are easily found by adventurers. However, unless powered by a gem their use is limited. You flip backwards a bit. Gems are what are used to power the weapons. Gems are small, colored stones, usually around the size of a man's palm. They are always finely cut, and always cut flat in an octagonal shape. You flip back to where you were before. A Thaddian Weapon will always have a octagonal groove or indent somewhere. On a sword or a spear it may be the hilt, on a bow it may be on an arm, etc. Placing a gem upon this space will cause it to merge with the weapon, changing it to it's true shape.
That seems to be enough reading for now. Something tells you that what you just read is important, but you're not sure why...
Once upon a time there was a man. That man had a difficult choice to make, and so do you. What do you do now?

You will consult Cat Blanket, because Cat Blanket is Monado.
You're welcome. This CYOA needed more Xenoblade and Cat Blanket. Also I'm debating posting the Cat Blanket story I wrote

See if that oboe has one of the octagonal holes in it. Then look for other doors in the library.

Insert a gem into one of the discs. Whoops I accidentally got my typing cursor stuck in the quote box. I have no clue how to get it out. Um... Seconded.

Realizing what that gem was for, you decide to place it in one of the silver disks. The disk glows for a few seconds before seeming to ripple into shape. It turns into a silver Chakram, the throwing weapon Axel uses in KH. It has a three spoked handle with curved blades at the ends. The gem glows as it slides into place, and green fire dances along the edges. Experimentally, you gently toss it at a table. It spins at the target beautifully, cutting a deep gouge in the table and returning to your hand. You drop it in surprise and it comes around to float near your hip. Nice!
Now that you have a proper weapon, you feel ready to search for hidden doors. Pulling out a copy of "The Alternate History CYOA", you find a hidden missile silo full of dusty nukes in launch towers, shelves stocked full of history books, and a notebook marked "Evil Plans". Thattt's... You slowly place the book back...

You decide to head to the hallway, becauz what else? Walking into the right side door, you inspect the room-wide hallway more closely. Statues and chairs sit along the walls, and there's a chandler on the ceiling. The doors on the end are both padlocked, although with different locks. A sign hanging over the left one says "this way". A broom closet sits to the right and to the left is-OH GOSH THAT SPIDER IS BIG KILL IT
Alright! Combat time!
wait how do I do this again Attacks:Annoying Panpipes Chakram Throw Whatever you come up with Specials:??? Songs: Whatever
Rhiannon: 20/20 Spider: 10/10

Distract the spider with your panpiped then throw a chakram at its face.

You badly play Panpipes to stun the spider and throw a Chakram at it, doing 5 damage. However, because the stun only lasts a turn this is no more effective than just attacking it. The spider retaliates by spitting a ball of acid at you, doing 4 damage in return.

You decide to finish your first battle as epically as possible and attempt to throw a bunch of chakrams in midair like in the movies. This fails, partially due to your complete lack of skill with acrobatics and partially because you only have the one chakram. The chakram veers far off course and knocks the chandelier off the ceiling. It crashes down onto the spider, killing it and knocking open a trap door beneath your feet.
You fall through the trapdoor and down a now-ruined ladder into a stone chamber. It's dimly lit by torches that should have gone out a long time ago. A locked door sits behind you and in directly in front stands a pedestal with an large ornate skeleton key. Something tells you that you've accidentally come to the end of the dungeon, which means that behind that locked door is the hardest area, and you're now going to have to go through it backwards.
"Well [Insert generic swear here]!"
