Y'know looking at the previous update I probably could've worded some of it better. Oh well, too late now I guess. You spontaneously start to wail in sadness. It's just not fair! If you have to be stuck down here with no foreseeable way out then everyone else should too! They have to fall and take 30 damage just like you did! They're probably not even mourning your inevitable and soon death! What a bunch of JERKS!! It's probably their fault that you fell down in the first place! Yeah! Meanies! And... and... and now you can't remember why you fell down in the first place. Tired (but satisfied) from your cry, you sit and think on it for a second, eventually pulling a straight blank. You must've zoned out. Well there's no use dawdling. You take note of the abundance of the orange crystals from earlier that Elliot seemed to be obsessed with, though "obsessed" is an understatement. You walk over to one and manage to wriggle it free from the wall; it comes out surprisingly easily. You hold it in your hands and feel that it's unnaturally cold to the touch, yet it radiates a unseeable glow that makes you feel good. Nothing any more or less complex. Just... good. You remember how Min mentioned a while back how these crystals had life-giving properties. You then also remember how skeptical she was of them. It's odd how she's not telling you to incinerate the stone or something. "Oh... wait." Min zips out, as if on cue, "You're right, I did say that. Maybe this time it wouldn't hurt to keep it though...? I mean, it just feels so good when you hold it... that can't possibly be bad, right? Hehe... the feeling reminds me of you..." Okaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy... Putting Min's words aside, you drop the stone, reasoning if you do decide to hold on to one you can always wriggle one off the side of the cave.
Where do you--I mean what do you... go? I mean where do you do? I mean whaearrrt--you know.
Ace: 45/75 -- Now back up a minute. Back at the upper level, everyone has crossed the chasm safely but Ace and Apollo are both falling into the depths! "OH GEEZ WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" Apollo screams, having just missed the edge. He plummets down, continuing his panicked wails. Eventually, all goes dark and he feels nothing. "... oh no. Oh no." He thinks to himself, quickly assuming the worst, "I always was a klutz, now I guess my clumsiness has finally cost me my life." "Hellooooo...?" he calls out. He can't see anything. "Oh NO. It actually... I actually really DIED?" He tries to move, but gets nothing out of it. "Aw man. Ugh, I guess I never should have aspired to become a messenger. It probably would have only lead to a death just like this, considering I can't even keep myself alive even when I have my hand held by everyone else around me. No use pitying now! What... what do I do now that I'm dead?" He continues thinking "Helloo-ooo?" He calls again, just to be sure. At first nothing changes, but a moment passes and two fiery glowing eyes appear in the darkness. "... oh. Oh NO."

I tried four different things to say before this but each of them flopped because I couldn't make them entertaining in the slightest, so here I am telling you all that. Huzzah!! You look around for an escape. Behind where you landed, there's the big rock wall that appeared out of nowhere. You think about trying to scale it, but a quick look up shows you that it's nice and snug with the roof of the cave. There goes that idea, and that means the only way that you can go is into the dark depths of the cave with naught but a little robot buddy for light. So without further ado, onwards!!! As you walk through the cave, you think: Y'know, you and Min have been together for a long time. Perhaps it's time to finally ask her out on a date. Yes, that's a good idea. But would she ever accept your invitation? For all you know she already could have a crush on someone else! She has nicknames for Apollo and Marshall, but calls you by your normal name... and would you two even be a good match? She's slightly manipulative and antisocial and you're... you. Heck, do you want to be paired up with someone like that? And it's not like just because you ask her once she'll automatically say yes. What is this, some B-list romantic comedy? Wait. Can't Min read your thoughts? The realization that she's aware of all your thoughts over the past 20 seconds makes you instantly die of shame like some sort of overreacting teen, which technically is what you are according to the writer's mental pictures of characters. Whoa, how meta. But yeah, you're like, super dead. GAEM OEVR >Heroes never die! So without further ado, onwards!!! You walk through the caves, stepping over protruding orange rocks. You can practically taste Min's desire for you to hold onto one. Eventually you come to another large drop-off. Another one? Geez, how are you going to get to the peak at this rate? Might as well hop down... You jump and land smoothly, to be fair it wasn't very far down and you could climb back up if you wanted to. You shine Min forward and-oh wow. You seem to have come across some sorts of ruins of a town. Wood from houses splinters up from the dirt with roof material sprinkled here and there. Looking around, some houses are semi-intact as well! One house stuck inside the wall of the cave you see has a fully intact doorway; how lucky is that? But... looking around, no sign of people can be found other than these ruined structures. You feel a serious chill run down your spine. None of those orange rocks are here either. What do you do now?
Ace: 45/75 -- Faced with a pair of menacing glowing eyes, Apollo decides the only possible course of action is to greet this new presences the most foolproof way possible: Jazz Hands! Oh wait he can't move his body. "Well, I had a good run. Might as well face my doom head-on... oh right I'm already dead, I even botched that by screaming like an idiot." He thinks to himself. The glowing pairs of eyes grow closer to Apollo, but lack a visible body. They move in a slow, swaying pattern. At one point Apollo feels a clawed hand touch his face, then a raspy voice almost like a record player talk, "T... this... this is... cold. A-a... cold person..." Apollo doesn't respond to this. Mostly because he's scared out of his wits. "Haven't seen a cold p-person in a long time... reminds m-me... o-of..." The voice goes quiet for who knows how long. It's difficult for Apollo to tell with nothing else to see. "No use r-re... remembering. T-tell me, what is its name?" Apollo stays silent. "I-its name?" Apollo stays absolutely silent. "I... I don't want t-to hurt it..." the voice says, taking its hand off of Apollo's face, "but... p-perhaps..." The voice goes quiet again, and Apollo is certain it stays this way for a while now. All of a sudden Apollo's limbs feel warm. He attempts to move them, but then realizes that HE CAN MOVE THEM! He pushes off of whatever was behind him and feels a strange tar-like sticky substance as he stands up. He only knows he's standing up because of his body's natural balance. The only thing he can see is the voice's eyes. He quickly thinks about running, but then realizes that the eyes said they won't hurt "it", presumably him, and that they're the only sources of light... anywhere. "... wait, no they're not." He puts his finger out and summons a small crackling bolt of lightning to illuminate the area. He sees the source of the eyes: they're attached to a Fire Person. But this one, while keeping the long claws that most have, it looks very different. Its skin is less dirt-brown and is more a very pale orange with pulsing lines of red. Its eyes are more almond-shaped as well, almost like a normal person's, something not noticeable before. It even has long, dark hair and a somewhat feminine face. Perhaps most notably, it doesn't have the gaping hole filled with lava inside its chest. Upon seeing Apollo's lightning, however, its skin goes deep red and it begins to clutch its head, seemingly in pain. "N... no! NO!!! I am not... I AM NOT FIRE!! NO!!!!" It proceeds to let out a bloodcurdling scream that echoes throughout the cavern, and the air gets really warm all of a sudden. Apollo, startled, extinguishes his lightning without a word. Eventually the Fire Person calms down, but doesn't talk... He wonders what he should do now.

Did Planetbox just assume the Fire Person's gender? Even though you don't sense anyone else here, you move very quietly as to not disturb whatever could be here. Safety first, I guess. You walk into town to see the sights that can be seen. Though the more you look at everything, the more unnerving the place is. There's this eerie silence as you walk through what you can only assume was once a street of some sort. The seemingly randomly intact houses amidst all the rubble is weird as well. One looks like a dilapidated but quaint little thing, another looks like its door was busted in, and a third is a larger house that looks actually really well kept. There's also the one that's stuck into the side of the cave. You decide to peer into the first of the more intact houses and notice it has furniture intact... but very badly burnt, like there was a house fire here that got bored and left. Singed outlines of two people, as in surprisingly person-shaped rings of ash, lie in the corner of the room. How pleasant, as in horribly creepy. In the same room you also notice a writing desk with a notebook on it, as well as a traveling chest that's left open. What now? There are other intact houses in this town, and there's also that one that's stuck inside the wall of the cave. What do you do?
Ace: 45/75 -- Apollo realizes that he was a very rude little boy and never gave his name to his new fiery friend. Well, he hopes they'll be his friend. At least not his enemy. Having enemies isn't very pleasant. "Ehm... sorry about that. Uh... um... so, I'm Apollo. This guy," he points to himself, "is Apollo. Are we good? You seem a bit... stressed." The Fire Person seems to let out a short sigh, which also puffs out little embers. How cute. "S-sorry." It says. "Don't... not... A-Apollo is good. But I... I remember... th-that is not fire. It is... l-lightning. It's been a-a long time since I-I've seen l-lightning." "Is that so?" Apollo answers, feeling a bit relieved. "Well... besides that point, what's your name?" "N-n-name?" It asks back. "Name... my name..." It puts its hand on to its chin and looks off, clearly trying very hard to remember, "... Pyralis. Y-yes. That i-is my name." "Excellent. So, uh, Pyralis. Where am I?" Apollo figures that's as good a follow-up question as any. Pyralis answers instantly and flatly, "Jorrahn Mountain." "Okay. (I guess I'm not dead, just really pessimistic. Unless Jorrahn Mountain is a code name for the underworld...) Uh... second question, where are you from, uh, Pyralis?" "M-me? ... I-I've been at Jorrahn Mountain ever s-since... ever s-since my f-family was lost here..." it stops and seems to go off into though. "I-I'd rather not talk further with Apollo a-about that." "Mmmkay. Well, I suppose I'd better, uh, get moving." Apollo prepares to walk away, but Pyralis stops him. "W-wait. Let m-me follow you." Apollo thinks a bit before aswering, "... but I have family of my own. I have a hunch that I can find them, and need to as soon as possible." He realizes that that doesn't give him a reason to leave Pyralis behind. "But yeah, sure, you can... uh... tag along. But I'm going to use that lighting thing again, will you be okay?" "I-I'll be fine. Apollo... er, you. You make me feel more c-comfortable." "I don't usually have that effect on people, but whatever works for you..." "A-and besides, it's not... fire. I... no fire. Please." "Gotcha." Apollo spawns another burst of electricity to look around. Pyralis, thank goodness, doesn't seem keen to freak out again. He soon realizes that whatever room he's in, there's not an exit in sight. Nothing but cave walls and a spot of strange mud where he presumably came from. "Uh, Pyralis?" He asks, "How exactly do I leave here? (Wow maybe I am dead?)" "... Th-that... I've never tried l-leaving with someone else b-before." "So we can leave? (Not dead?)" "Yes... oh. I-I understand what y-you're s-saying... just hold s-still for a s-second..." "Um... okay?" Apollo holds still and lets his summoned lightning dissipate. Suddenly he feels a grasp around his waist, a lot of dirt, and intense heat all in quick succession before everything goes back to normal. He takes a moment to readjust before turning around to see that Pyralis is writhing on the ground, seemingly in pain and muttering "not... fire...". "Oh gosh. Oh goshgoshgosh..." Apollo starts muttering to himself now. What will he do?

I almost started a house fire before writing this. What a coincidence. You step over to the writing desk and examine the notebook, which upon closer inspection seems to be a diary. The page it's open to has a date at the top... "Apparently this journal entry dates back about a year." Min tells you. Of course, you begin to read what's written after that. The conditions have gotten even worse in these caves, believe it or not. Our food will not last much longer, if at all, and I'm afraid there's naught we can do to remedy it. It's taking the last of my strength to write any of this, and I hate to believe in the worst but I have doubts that anyone in the village will survive, including myself. If anyone happens upon this, please, help.... and the message ends there. You back a few pages to see if you can figure out what happened to the writer, eventually happening upon another passage of note. According to a rumor that's been going around, the peak has started to move. Now since when has solid rock moved on its own? I'll believe it when I see it. Whoever started this joke of gossip has a sick sense of humor. And another. Last night, calamity struck. In a swift rush, the peak somehow RAISED ITSELF UP, and slammed down on top of the town. I would not have believed it unless I saw it, and part of me wishes I hadn't. Gigantic spikes of stone decimated many houses and people. I'm told by others who survived that I'm lucky my home and family remained safe and intact. Tomorrow, other survivors are going to try and find a way out of the cave. If all goes well, we should be out of here in a week. Unfortunately, we can't bring back those lost to the calamity. May they rest in peace. And one more... Our food supply is holding out, thank goodness. But today, a strange monster appeared in the ruins of the town square (or so the story goes). It almost claimed Glenn's life, but was defeated deftly by him. The strange thing is, Glenn told us that the creature looked just like Stacy. This is strange because Stacy was supposedly lost in the initial calamity, and Glenn detailed the encounter quite well. We're all survivors here, so there's no reason to doubt him. But if what he's saying is true, then things might become troublesome (but if Glenn of all people can take one on, it shouldn't be much of a problem). As for our escape, there has still been no progress to get out of these caves. After that, the diary just tells the slow decline of these "survivors". "So that's what happened here. The mountain moved and swallowed their entire town. There is another town that lies not far past the peak here, according to my databases, but if this diary is any indication we might already be at it... or at least the ruins of it. What I'm mostly surprised is that we weren't told about this when we started this trek. Weston said he and others of the village had only heard about anything strange at the peak recently. This was written over a year ago... I don't think that quite constitutes as 'recent'."Heeding Min's words, you decide to exit stage right out of this house (while taking the diary with you) and go check out the house imbedded in the cave wall. Heading inside, you are immediately met with a large, tall, and overall very rocky wall. Looking up, you see that it leads somewhere past the top of it. Climb it? Or check on somewhere else? (besides the wall, there's the quaint house, the well-kept house, and the house that had its door busted down; you've already visited the first) Ace: 45/75 -- Apollo frantically looks around to try and spot any kind of fire. If his insight is correct, the sight of flame seems to send Pyralis into a frenzy, which would be inconvenient considering Apollo would be lost without the help. He looks left, right, up, down, and all around, but can't find a single thing that could constitute as a flame. He checks back on Pyralis, who is attempting to calm itself down, but has at least stopped the "not fire" bit. "Hey? Are you alright?" Apollo asks, unsure of what else he could say. "..." "Huh. The silent treatment." he thinks to himself. "Watch out!" Pyralis yells, suddenly, surpisingly, and sterly. Apollo turns around, and notices glowing eyes beneath the ground, and instantly meets face to face with a giant stone snake. At the same time, he gets a lucky instinct to DUCK and the snake just barely misses him. It somehow merges back into the ground when it touches and rises up. It's a big thing, but only about the same height as Apollo. It has a body made out of earth, and lava-colored eyes that look like sideways crescents both put in a "U" shape. It opens its mouth to reveal a fiery maw the same color as its eyes, and roars. "F-f-fire... s-s-s-snake...!" Pyralis mutters. "Th-this is bad... I... not fire... not... FIRE..." Pyralis curls up into a ball and continues talking to itself. The snake makes another strike, this time at Pyralis, but this time Apollo deflects it with his scarf. "What an intimidating thing." Apollo thinks, "This must be what Pyralis was all stressed out about just now. It probably took notice when Pyralis tried to help me escape, and now seems intent on finishing us off. But just being near it is absolute torment for Pyralis... I have to defeat it, for both of us. I... I can do this!" Apollo steps in between the snake and Pyralis, and prepares for combat. Fire Emblem Heroes, to me, is called Fire Em-*blep* because it's a very cute and relatively faithful shrinkage of normal FE onto a mobile platform. It's so tiny and wonky but it WORKS, gosh darn it!Deciding the rock wall probably leads to more rock, and that climbing it would be a pain, you exit the imbedded house and sneak over to the well-kept one. Going inside, you immediately notice the house is very clean. Of course, there's still dust covering everything, and the furniture is arranged very strangely, but it's just... clean. There are no burn marks on the floor or cliff faces splitting the room in half. You examine the furniture. By the window of this room there's a chair with its right side facing outside. In front of it is yet another writing desk and to its left is an examination table. You know it's an examination table because there's an old lamp next to it and tools arranged in a box underneath. In front of the chair is another writing desk, but nothing's visible on top of it. Same goes for the examination table. All in all, whoever used to live here used to spend long times in this spot, probably looking either outside or whatever was on their examination table. This part of the room feels suspiciously bare... what will you do? Ace: 45/75 -- The snake lunges again. Apollo deflects it again, and this time he uses Thunda! in a powerful forward counterattack to deal 6 damage. The snake squeals and falls backwards. "That's what happens, you... you!" He tries the same spell again, but this time the snake is ready and ducks into the ground, avoiding the attack. It moves forward at speed, only visible by its eyes, and erupts from the ground under Apollo with its fiery mouth spread wide. Apollo, however (somehow), was ready for this and enters a slow-mo action scene where he backflips out of the way and puts up a Reflectricity shield that serves to stall and shock the snake as he strikes it with his scarf. Unfortunately, the latter scarf part does very little. The snake only took 3 damage from all of that. Also Apollo didn't do a backflip, he kind of more just shuffled to the side very quickly. ALSO also, when the snake fell back down, it kind of landed on Apollo just a bit and dealt 10 damage. Okay, maybe more than just a bit. Like, maybe a lot. But either way Apollo's back up, but the attack has made it so now he's over here and Pyralis is still over there. Fortunately for them, the snake's focus is fixed on Apollo. Unfortunately, said Apollo feels a wall to his back, and the snake seems intent on not getting blocked on its next attack... Didn't Treble's CYOA also have a fire snake? You have Min scan the examination table. After a quick moment, she gives her report. "Well... it would be correct to think this table is bare, because it is. But if you look closely, there's a bit less dust in that one spot."You scrutinize the examination table in a very close manner. Sure enough, while the lot of the desk is covered very thickly in dust and dirt, one spot in the center is mind-bogglingly clean compared to the rest. It has no discernible shape, however, and there's nothing much else. You ask Min how in the HECK that's relevant, someone probably could have just waked in and taken whatever was on it before! "Nope. Wrong. There are no signs of people here, and there haven't been for a fairly lengthly time. Whatever was here before has disappeared, leaving nothing even close to anything that could vaguely constitute as a trace. That is to be considered abnormal, and therefor relevant."While the robot nags you, you go and examine the writing desk, this time without her help. After poking around it a bit, you find a drawer containing, not a diary, but a research notebook! You know it's that because it says "Research" on the front, and because it's a notebook. "Actually it's a journal."You crack open the notebook at the back to see if the owner wrote any last words like the guy with the last journal did. These back pages are rather bare. You flip forward quite a few pages. Still bare. You begin to wonder if whoever owned this notebook even used it, and pass by many more blank pages before you find any writing. By that point you're practically at the front, so instead you decide to read from the front. What a waste. The first page dates back to a little while after the date you know the town was swallowed up by the mountain, in fact about the time when the "monster" that attacked that Glenn person was mentioned. Whoever this writer was, they're pretty serious. I have a hypothesis that these orange rocks are the direct cause of that monster that appeared in town yesterday, and I believe that there are more to come. This journal will be a record of what I can tell of these rocks, to possible ensure prosperity for those who survived. My hypothesis is no more than a hunch, but these strange orange stones have never been seen before by anyone, nor recorded in any book. Same could go for any monster that behaved the way described by one of our own. There no doubt has to be a correlation. Starting today, I will keep myself inside, devoted to my studies. The next few pages are... densely packed, to say the least. You manage to shorten them down into a few key points. First off, the writer saw more monsters the days that followed. He describes them as "lava-filled people". He describes them quite a lot actually, but only in appearance. It seems from his little study corner he was only able to gather visual data on the creatures. But there's no denying it; these are definitely Fire People he's talking about. Secondly, the rocks are NOT NATURAL. This guy did a bunch of mix-matching maniacal mineral study and came to this staggeringly drawn-out conclusion. Seriously, one page is just crammed with word upon word about how there should be no way these rocks should exist. But besides that, this section confirms that rocks were once in the village. Thirdly, speaking of the strange and rather infamous crystal-rocks, they do tend to just disappear. There's a whole short paragraph on it. Coupled with your findings with the examination desk, it seems that it doesn't matter how or where the rocks are for that to happen... SO. Apparently the rocks and the Fire People have a correlation? Well, if there was a hunch before it just became a lot hunchier. You tuck the notebook away for safekeeping. What to do now? (there's still the house with it's door busted in... or you could try and do something else in either this house or one of the previous ones) Ace: 45/75 -- The snake, taking no hesitation, launches itself repeatedly at Apollo. Apollo has no choice but to block as best he can, taking 12 damage from the onslaught. Eventually the snake opens its mouth wide to try and deal a more lethal strike, but Apollo gets a burst of courage and CHANCES IT. And by "chances" I mean BLASTS IT WITH LIGHTNING RIGHT IN THE KISSER, dealing 12 damage! The snake is caught very much so off guard, and the strike causes its mouth to spray fiery sparks in every direction. This does not please the snake in the slightest; it slithers backwards, inflates, and then shoots a furious jet of flame at Apollo! He dodges, luckily. "Whoa! Wasn't expecting that!" He fires some more electricity for 6 damage as he reorientates himself. In the background, he can hear Pyralis' groans of agony grow louder... so does the snake. It turns towards Pyralis. I dunno what I can do about Ace to be quite honest, so
Apollo: While the snake is distracted, ride that courage from earlier and try to wrap its neck with your scarf to choke it. Make sure the fire-spewing part is facing AWAY from Pyralis, bonus points if a) your scarf survives, b) you run electricity through it for even more damage and c) you lift it off the ground so it doesn't burrow away.

So I made art again. Have a Marshall. And an Apollo. I like the Apollo one more, to be honest. You make like a bipedal organism and casually walk over to the busted-in-door house. When you get there, you make like a protagonist and walk right inside, hoping to not receive the same treatment as the door from whatever may reside within. Aaaaaand the interior of the house is absolutely ravaged. Remember the first house with its intact but burnt furniture? Well in THIS house there are just piles of ash vaguely shaped like room decor in spots, and holes appear in the walls between rooms. There are also person-shaped burn marks strewn wildly everywhere, with what seem like weapons laid beside them. The "weapons" are fairly damaged, so it's hard to be sure, but you do recognize a pickaxe and a sledgehammer. But why weapons? You feel a chill run down your spine again. What... happened here? Note, you basically only have a flashlight and are looking around a house that people probably died in. It's scarier than it sounds. You begin to dig around for any sort of clue. First, looking at the walls, there seem to be not only burn and scratch marks, but smash marks that weapons could have made as well. "Fire People must have attacked this place..." Min comments, regarding the former two. Wait. That's it! Putting the pieces together, you deduce that a big fight between the Fire People and not-fire-people took place here! But it seems that the Fire People won, judging by the... lack of normal people, to say the least. But you didn't find any bodies... do Fire People just burn up their victims? No... you have a hunch that's not the case. "WAIT"Min zips out very loudly this time. "Look! Over there!"You go to where she "there"-s you. When you get to the there, sitting atop a pile of ashes, glowing rather brightly (and conveniently) is... a P-Chip. Haven't seen one of those in a while. "What's one of THESE doing in this dumb cave? Just... just give it to me. Ah never mind I got it!"She flies over and eats assimilates the chip into her machine. Then... she turns resets and everything goes dark. Oh, so dark. You wish she'd tell you when these kinds of things happen. But just soon enough, Min lights back up and exclaims "EUREKA!! I've got it!!!"You overcome the ringing sensation in your ears from her sudden and rather loud exclamation and ask her what, exactly, has just been got. "Holographic Replay." She states plainly. You ask what that is. Or maybe you don't. Either way, Min explains. "So there's been a LOT of evidence thrown around here, and while I've been scanning it all to try and help nothing much here correlates with my databases. Thusly I can't do that much accurate claim-making without assumption. However, with this new feature, I can recreate what happened here from all the burn marks, slash marks, body outlines, weapons, et cetera, with adequate accuracy in a 3-D holographic space! In short, I can show what happened. Now let's go! I wanna try this out!"You step back and let Min do a HUGE scan of the front room. She then shines brightly and suddenly the door appears good as new, albeit in a technological blue light. All the piles of ash get shining semi-transparent pieces of furniture to appear as they were. "Geat ready," Min says, "The show's about to start. Keep in mind not everything moves exactly as I project unless it's directly impacting some aspect of this area, or so it's supposed to go. But that shouldn't be a problem... And... curtain!"People line up around the edges of the room, numbering around 20 from what you see. One person says something, and everyone nods, some seem to cheer. Whatever this is, it's their last stand. The door, which was being banged on this entire time, is suddenly broken down. A horde of Fire People, arms flailing as usual, storms into the house. The first person, having stood close to the door, is immediately vanquished as the horde moves in. It's clear these people did not expect such a big group of the monsters. Some people panic, some retreat to the back rooms of the house, but most stay and fight using whatever weapons they have, be they pickaxes, shovels, hammers or hand mirrors. These weapons don't prove particularly useful, however, as most, if not all of them melt or burn on contact with the Fire People. The Fire People slash, rake, and raze anything standing between them and the survivors. Furniture in the room burns up with the lava dripping from the Fire People as the survivors try to use it as cover. The fight is valiant, but before too long all those who stayed to fight the horde head-on have been killed. The remaining Fire People shuffle into the back of the house, probably to take care of the rest of the survivors. ...The replay isn't over, and Min's holograms seem to be keeping this place well lit. If you want, you can search the house for clues while Min's still doing her thing. Actually, you probably should. Min isn't responding to you, like, at ALL. Where's your popcorn? Ace: 45/75 -- Apollo unwraps his scarf and bravely lassos the Fire Snake! He pulls and manages to lean it away from Pyralis, of whom is practically screaming now, and sends a burst of electricity through himself down the scarf and onto the snake, hurting him and the it at the same time. The snake screeches, and in the panic turns at Apollo and breaths fire DIRECTLY AT HIM. The crimson flames hit their mark dead-on, and Apollo is forced to bear the brunt of the attack because of his scarf. The fire burns like, well, fire. It also hurts a LOT. Apollo yells in determinaton and continues to shock both himself and the snake for what feels like an eternity. Only when he feels like he can barely go on and sees his life flash before his eyes does the snake's steady burning stream peter out, and the snake itself collapse on the ground with a resounding THUD. Victory!Apollo, while victorious, feels about as far as one can feel from being a winner. Quite the opposite, in fact. He's only able to hear Pyralis call his name some times before he blacks out. This is a late-night update for me. Let's see if I can interpret suggestions coherently while almost every part of me wants to go to bed... You walk over to where the P-Chip was, and already the spot it was in is a pile of holographic ash (and non-holographic ash, technically). Well that's no fun. You go back and poke and prod Min, attempting to find a rewind button. You eventually hit something, and the recreation begins to play in reverse. There we go. You wait until the beginning, and then shuffle yourself back over to the spot where the chip was. It appears to be... on display on top of a vanity? It's on a little pedestal with jewelry surrounding it. Strange. It's almost as if whoever lived in the house just found it lying around and decided to put it there. In fact, that may very well be the case. Too bad you can't tell if they knew what it was, nor when or where they found it. However, you definitely know that there's a stash of jewelry under that ash pile. As the recreation begins to play forward again, you scoot in between flaming monsters and dying holo-people to dig your hand through that one ash pile. Sure enough, you find a handful of old, shiny necklaces with a bunch of gaudy bejeweled rings attached to them. Score! +10000 Pwaants The holographic replay is now back to where it was before. What now?
Ace: 45/75 -- Apollo's snoozing for a bit. Don't worry, he'll wake up eventually. Probably.
Apollo: 0/75 Pyralis: ...! ~~~ Marshall: ??? Amanda: ??? Isra: ???
New Items: +10000 Pwaants Persony Bits: If Apollo doesn't wake up soon does that mean he's dead? Recent: Attempt to inspect P-Chip origins, found jewelry, back to same spot in holo-replay.

I hate being sick. Did I mention that I am sick at the moment I'm writing this? Well I am, and it is NOT fun. If anyone reading this ever gets a cold or 24-hour stomach flu, know that my endless sympathies are with you. You wait for the replay to continue. Nothing happens. Then you realize; the replay was already in progress before you decided to wait. Whoops. In a flurry, you rush back to Min and try to rewind back to the point where you were before. After poking your robot buddy for some moments, you happen upon a stroke of luck and successfully figure out how to rewind. Unfortunately, said stroke of luck is fleeting as now you can;t figure out how to stop the process. You're powerless against the replay as it begins to play again... at the beginning of it's show. If Min was talking right now, she'd at the very least tell you what to do... before poking fun at your VERY UNDERSTANDABLE MISTAKE. Where does she come off, acting all high-and-mighty to you? Thoughts like this crowd your mind until you realize that you waited too long... again. Not wanting to miss any details, you rewind Min again, fail to find a stop button, and wait through the first scene AGAIN, hopefully for the last time. You weren't even distracted for that long! Boy those zombies work fast...
At the desired point in the replay, you decide to follow the Fire People into the back of the house and down a hallway. Said hallway has a staircase splitting of to the right going upstairs and a room at the end. You follow the second group into the latter room. Inside, a bookshelf is illuminated in holograms. This seems to have been a reading room. That aside, another scene seems to be playing out in here... A small group of two huddles in the corner, both clutching weapons. However, they're too intimidated to use their tools and do little but yell in distress. Unfortunately, nobody comes to their aid, and the Fire People descend. At the last second, one person tries to bolt towards the door, but is vanquished swiftly and thrown to the bookshelf. The other one is engulfed by the horde, their weapons held to their chest. Afterwards, the Fire People seem finished with whatever they came in here for. They leave the room uncoordinatedly and begin to shuffle upstairs, likely sensing something else up there. ... Alrighty then. You try to look past the holograms and see what's left of the room. It's a bit hard to tell without getting close... you go over to the second person and find the weapons they were using, though! However, they look more like tools than any traditional weapons, and not anything that you're familiar with, as far as you know. You'll have to ask Min what they are once the show is over. +Mystery Tools You stand back up and look around the room again. Is there anything else you want to inspect here? Or anywhere else you want to go?
Ace: 45/75 -- In his unconscious state, Apollo has a bizarre dream. It's so bizarre, in fact, that I as a writer can't even begin to properly express the events of it in words. To make matters worse, Apollo won't remember this dream. Not because it's unimportant or anything, but because the darn guy never, and I mean NEVER remembers his dreams! If Min was linked with him instead of Ace, she wouldn't even have to perform memory wipes every time she shares touchy info with him via deus-ex-dream-sequence because he'd forget the moment he wakes up! But as for this dream he's having now, I think it has something to do with Pyralis and Isra getting into some sort of animé battle with Ruby as a judge. Also, all of the ground is Amanda's face, and Apollo's sitting on a throne made of Marshall while also in a prison cell. Huh. I guess I could describe it better than I thought. That said, maybe it's best that Apollo just forgets this one after all... I mean, it probably won't ever be relevant, right? RIGHT???
Apollo: 0/75 Pyralis: *animé sound* ~~~ Marshall: ??? Amanda: ??? Isra: ???
New Items: Mystery Tools: Some weird tools that you can't quite identify. Curse your memory! Ask Min about them later. Persony Bits: You don't want to know. In fact, I'm even sure that I know... Recent: Rewind shenanigans, watched a new scene, got item, BIZZARE DREAM

*threatening xylophone* You walk over to the bookcase without a flourish that could be described by the author in any way whatsoever. In doing so, you fall on your face, prompting a laugh track to play and show ratings to increase 20%. You get back up and pick the first book you notice off of the shelf. You examine its cover, it appears to be a scrapbook. On said cover is a picture of a family with a young girl with long, dark hair and her two presumable parents. Reasoning "why not?", you crack open the book. Looking inside you see exactly what one would expect from a scrapbook: a lot of pictures. Each one has a description, though. In one of them the girl is using fire magic, the description below it reads: "It looks like Pyralis picked up Fire magic on our outing! She's already highly proficient for such a young mage!" The name of the girl in the picture strikes you in a funny spot, almost as if you've heard it before... Another picture later in the book seems to be a slightly older picture of Pyralis. In this one, you see her channeling a scary-looking spinning fireball. The description reads: "I came up with a new spell a while ago, or at least I think it's new? I called it the spell 'Piercing Spyralisl'! I'm quite proud of that name. As for the spell, when casted, it takes a lot of your energy. After this picture was taken, I felt a bit faint. Even then, it required a lot of focus to even start up. I'm told by others that this kind of 'combat magic innovation' is unprecedented. Funny, seeing how I wasn't trying to cast combat magic at all when I first discovered this..." Ooooh. That's a neat spell... you might want to keep track of this page. It'd be a bad idea to try it out now, at least. You debate ripping it out of the binder for later, but decide in the end to just put the entire scrapook in your bag. This family must have been quite close if even their child actively added her own thoughts to the darn thing... you'd hate to disturb that. Besides, otherwise you'd have random out-of context junk on the other side of the page. That would just be awkward. +Piercing Spyralis Scrapbook Now what? Actually, scratch that, you know exactly what. It's time to see what these stupid Fire People did when it all came down to it. You leave the room and follow the last of the holo-Fire People upstairs. There, one (hopefully) last scene plays out... The Fire People are trying to slowly make their way up the stairs, but are being held off by three people. Two other people lie on the floor, presumably dead and one other smaller person seems to be opening a window in the back. At one point, one of the three defenders drops their guard and is defeated. The other two, beginning to get overwhelmed, now retreat to the now-open window, and the smaller one steps forward. It quickly enters a magical stance, and then fires a large burst of... fire(?) at the horde. This does no physical damage, but from the looks of things it seems to confuse the horde for some reason. This gives the remaining three people a chance to escape, and they all jump out of the window. The Fire People, regaining their relative composure, now all shuffle out, probably to give chase after those who escaped. ... Well that was... uh, nice? It seems that no more Fire People are left in this little holo-replay. What do you do now? I ask for real this time.
Ace: 45/75 -- Apollo snores loudly. I don't know how I can turn this into a greater action. I... I'm sorry.

This update brought to you by memories of when Planetbox used to do the "this update brought to you by..." bit. You try to run out of the house to see if there are any holograms going on beneath the window in the last replay. You only get two steps outside of the door before you realize that the show doesn't project this far. In fact, this cave area is really dark and spooky. You hear your footsteps echo in the empty abyss as whatever light that comes out of the house is eaten up by the darkness. You even hear a scream echo from somewhere... or is that just your imagination? Either way it is VERY CREEPY without Min shining light everywhere and you run right back into the house without any hesitation... for now. You decide to go and get Min out of hologram mode, then she might be more eager to help.
When you reach Min again she's in the same position as before, doing the same thing that she was doing. You try to bring her out of "holographic replay" mode to make her a bit more responsive. To do this, you poke her face some more, similar to when you made the replay rewind. This time, however, nothing you do seems to do anything. Before you can think to try something a bit more... drastic, Min suddenly starts shining brightly again. Once she stops, the bodies of those fallen that littered the room seem to get up and leave the house. You also notice that they leave in a more... shuffling manner, and where they laid before they leave behind a burnt outline of themselves. Somehow, they must have turned into Fire People. All the new Fire People leave. You stand in stunned silence for a moment and think. Why did that happen? Why are there Fire People? What do those orange crystals have to do with this? You remember the first Fire Person you encountered in these caves... they didn't seem to be like any person from this village. Besides, didn't the diaries say that nobody could find a way out of this are where the town ended up? It had rock walls on all sides... As you finish your thoughts, Min begins to shine brightly again. The holograms begin to recede, and the house is plunged into creepy darkness again as Min reboots. You sit down to make sure you don't fall over anything, as this time she takes quite a while before starting back up... "... aaaand... curtain! Wow! What a show!" Before Min can get on a tangent, you ask her what was happening when she shone brightly just now. "Oh, that? I should've told you, that was when I sped up time in the replay. The first time it was a few weeks, and then the second time it was a few months leading up to now. There was nothing else to show in-between those parts, so it was sped up so I could end it and turn off the holograms. You should thank me." You don't feel any particular need to respond to that. Instead you follow through with your initial idea and tell Min to follow you outside below the window. When you get there, you swiftly ask her to scan the spot below the window to see if anything happened to the people that escaped. She does so, and afterwards seems to get an idea. "All right. This seems like a good time to show you what else those holograms can do." She shines a special light, and on the ground footprints appear, illuminated. That's nice. Very convenient, if anything else. You follow them, crossing through the ruins of the town until you eventually reach... a wall? "Yes, a wall. A huge, rocky, solid cave wall." Min rattles off to drive the point home. She shines up for you, but you don't see anything else here. The footprints just seem to disappear into the side of the cave. Now wasn't there a case of walls appearing out of nowhere when you first fell down here? You'll have to be careful. What do you do now? -- Apollo snores softly this time. The noises are cute, like a puppy or a kitten. But certainly not a mix of the two, that would just be horrifying.

This update brought to you by cup noodles containing 200% more sodium than what any normal human should consume over a week--in just 3 easy minutes! You scratch your head and wonder, what do you do now? Then, as if smote by a divine bolt of knowledge (what), you remember those mystery tools you found. You get Min's attention and take them out of your bag, asking her if she knows what they are. "Oh! I saw those in the replay! Those are old-fashioned climbing tools. I think they would make better weapons, but they're so... old. And if you look closely, they're pretty badly burnt. You might still be able to use them to climb... but it'd be useless to try that on this wall. What about that one back at that house--the one with stuck in the side of the cave? The big wall that was inside definitely had more to explore at the top of it."And so, with a fresh idea of where to go now, you take your newly-identified climbing tools and meander over to the imbedded house. Inside, you meet the familiar rocky wall you initially shied away from. But now, you are prepared. You whip out the aforementioned tools and spin them in your hands like some kind of western gunslinger, and stab them into the wall. Upon doing so, they immediately break with a dry snap. ... ... ... Well, since you're here, might as well start climbing the wall the even older-fashioned way. ~ LATER~ After climbing for what doesn't feel like that long, but just long enough to be physically exhausting, you heave yourself onto the top of the cliff. You look over to see if there's a path ahead, but before you can get a bearing something else catches your eye. It's Apollo! I think this is, like, the fifth time I've said "It's Apollo!" or something to that extent in this CYOA. Darn guy is everywhere, I tell ya...Your ally lies still, collapsed on the ground, though you can hear him snoring at an oddly specific medium volume. He must be asleep; however, a place like this is no place for slumber. You run over to check on him, before a figure suddenly arches over him in an unnerving motion, and blocks your way. It's <insert name of Ruby's humanoid species here>-shaped with long, brown hair and pale orange, pulsating skin. Its face is feminine and oddly familiar-looking, but with glaring fiery-orange eyes. Despite its sudden and rather threatening movement, it makes no further action and instead seems keen on seeing what you do next. Speaking of which, what is it that you intend to carry out for yourself in this peculiar scenario? Ace: 45/75 Apollo: 0/75Pyralis: ?!?! ~~~ Marshall: ??? Amanda: ??? Isra: ???
